Wanted: Medical sources on under-medicated hypothyroidism and pregnancy. Thank you.
UPDATE I have just learnt my results from 25 February were TSH 0.84 FT4 10.1 FT3 3.0 The Consultant provided no reference ranges, has no problem with my results and no intention of seeing me again. Given the usual reference ranges I have seen with prior tests, I am devastated. If

Body shaking/vibrating for over a month now 😓
So at the end of January I must have got a mild stomach bug or food poisoning...woke up in the middle of the night feeling very hot and nauseous...never vomited (I have a fear of vomiting) or had diarrhea. With my fear of vomiting my anxiety gets worse so what I did was take acetaminophen to lower my

Raised glucose
Diagnosed last Jan PMR/GCA, put on 40 mg pred. Now at 11.25. I took a metabolic panel blood test on Feb 7 which showed non-fasting glucose at 101 mg/dL ((70-99 mg/dL). Checking earlier tests, all non-fasting, I t was 104 last May, 92 in July, 117 in Sept, 99 in November. Seems to have jumped

I got my energy back and got rid of all the symptoms...
I got rid of my symptoms when I got enough potassium. It took me some time to find out (browsing research results on pubmed) that one of the reasons hyperthyroidism can be dangerous is that high levels of thyroid hormone depletes the body of potassium. Together with the fact that many of the side effects

Reverse triiodothyronine (rT3) attenuates ischemia-reperfusion injury
In this paper, reverse T3 (rT3) is classified as a deiodinase II (D2) inhibitor. Which represents an interesting viewpoint. Further, it is then proposed as an agent in itself. I'd like to see further research which clarifies beyond doubt exactly what is happening but it is at least interesting. [i]

New to kidney disease
Hi all, I'm a 48 yr old male living in the UK. I presented about 5 years ago with mild anaemia, after a few dead ends, I gave up looking, or thought it was nothing. Forward to last year I start going to toilet loads more during the night. I see GP, she orders abdomen ultrasound scan, the scan shows one

As the regulars here probably know, I take quite an interest in this. Diabetes Type 2, and all the horrible consequences that follow, is simply not taken seriously by the NHS, despite the fact that a large chunk of its budget disappears into that particular black hole. Can’t wait any longer
Just been for my second fibroscan after a years diagnosis. My score has gone from 21 to 8. Stage 4 to stage 2. I’m extatic, it means I’ll probably get to see my grandchildren grow up. My 21 year old son cried over the phone. As long as I keep the healthy lifestyle up and glucose under control, I should

Not sure where to ask this question...
... but seeing as I have PA I'll post it here for now. I'm sure the same question has been covered elsewhere in this goldmine of a forum but until I get my laptop fixed I have difficulty finding my way around on a tiny mobile screen. Does anybody know if or how PA affects blood sugar? B12 injections

How do i start to add T3 to NDT safely please
My Endo wants me to drop my NDT from 1 3/4 grains (split doses) down to 1 grain to add T3 of 20mcg per day in.I showed DIO2 positive 11months ago and its now been agreed at my expense to add T3 to see if this helps all symptoms, mainly gut pain and function and weakness and fatigue. I am wasting away

I've just been given the yellow card. Don't want the red one.
Last Wednesday I was told that I'm pre diabetic. In the range 42 to 48 I'm 43 glucose level. No wonder I was feeling so tired. I was also told my BMI (89 kgs to 5.7 height) meant my BMI was 30.80 or thereabouts. On checking the statistics on line I found out that meant I was obese until I checked the

Fatty acids & PCa.
New study below [1]. I tried to ignore this, but the story is everywhere. It will undoubtedly drive some men to low-fat diets. Here is the ever-unreliable Daily Mail [2]: "Fatty acids fuel prostate cancer: study" "Men who eat more saturated fats are at greater increased risk of aggressive prostate cancer
