endo belly post surgery?
Hi, I had surgery about 5 weeks ago. Stage 4 endo, including on bowels, and all was removed as far as I know. I thought the endo belly might settle down but honestly I still look like I’ve got a tire around my lower abdomen. I plan to get back into exercise. Does anyone have any insight/tips? Thank

Diaphragmatic and/or Umbilical Endo
Hi Please could anyone with diagnosed diaphragmatic or umbilical endo advise of their symptoms and anything that helped besides surgery for associated symptoms? I strongly suspect endo has spread with the symptoms experiencing and waiting to get back into endo clinic for referral for second surgery

Broken wrist update
Today confirmed no need for surgery (whew). Last week plaster cast replaced with fibreglass one, which was (painfully) molded to keep a piece of bone from separating further from where it was supposed to be, and that bone didn't move any more. In four weeks I return for removal of cast and probably

Brain Surgery Recovery
After brain surgery as I had, or any type of surgery, it can be difficult to get back into life. It takes time and patience. Those 2 words I now hate. But it’s important to commit yourself to get thru the anxiety and depression. Overcoming a major event in life is difficult but it has to be done

Haitus hernia
hi everyone, I’ve posted in this group a few times, with regards to the same issue. I am a 28 years old female, and have recently been diagnosed with a 3cm sliding haitus hernia, I’m really having a miserable time with the relentless symptoms - which change from acid reflux, to belching and post nasal

My Cancer Journey Repost
It's time for a repost of my two-part cancer journey diary. Some "starting the journey readers" might find it helpful. Originally posted as two Health Unlocked "replies" - maybe I should make them an actual full "post". So I am pleased to report that
other than fatigue, I feel sort of normal right

Coated Pred
Hi Everyone, I’ve been quietly getting on with my Pred Reduction (DL Plan) and pleased to report that I’m now on 3.5mg. I began splitting dosage a while ago: 2.5 Coated at bedtime (theory of slow release) and the rest at 4 - 6am or whenever nature sends me to the bathroom. This seems to have worked

Not a PMR question but I’m hoping someone here can help. Sorry it’s a long post. I have been off pred for a couple of months and all is well, fingers crossed. I was offered, because I am now 70, a health check by the local surgery and asked for ESR and CRP to be checked too. They are good but my

bowel blockage
Had bowel resection 6 years ago . Iliostomy bag and then successful reversal . Had an appendectomy about a year later, because my appendix were stuck to my ileostomy scar internally. I had pain and went to the hospital, but my surgery wasn’t emergency. I was scheduled about two weeks later for the appendectomy

Psychological and fitness assessment form
Hi, I’m filling in my transplant assessment form for a meeting in a few weeks time and some of the questions seem vague. There is a question regarding how healthy I feel today with a scale from 1 to 10 ( eq5d ). Does this refer to mental, physical or general health ? Also , if you say you feel too

I helped a long term sufferer today
Got chatting recently to a lady on FB who lives in my town. She happened to mention that she is hypo and been on meds for about 6yrs. Funnily enough she is registered with the same GP Surgery as me. Anyway she was complaining that she was always so tired and achy etc and I asked what dosage she was

Smell different or more sweaty smell after surgery?!
hi there! I had surgery at the end of Feb and I’ve noticed ever since that my armpit sweat smells different ?! I feel like I smell more?! My friends and husband say they can’t smell it but I can and I’m paranoid. I’m just wondering if anyone has had this after their surgery or if it might be something

Pre-op for laparoscopic excision
Hi everyone 😊 After such a long wait since my MRI scan confirmed endometriosis and adenomyosis (over which time things have got progressively worse and landed me in hospital), I FINALLY have my pre-op assessment (over the phone) on Friday this week!! I don't have a date for surgery yet but I believe

Living Hell
I first experienced RLS about 1982. I had no idea what was wrong with me so I just put it down to some sort of allergy. As the attacks were quite intermittent, I didn't seek any help at the time. After about a year though. The frequency and severity of the attacks increased manyfold and was now causing

My story
Hi All. Just wanted to put my story out there. I had a routine MRI scan a few weeks ago as I have bulging discs in my back and to my surprise 3 days later my GP called to say that my scan had picked up 'a large mass on my left ovary'. This literally shook me as it was completely out of the blue. The

Uvetis and Glaucoma and detached retinas
Hi, wondering what treatment people are having if they have uveitis and secondary glaucoma as result of this? I'm asthmatic so only one type of drop is suitable for me. Can't have drugs or SLT to bring pressure down. I heard GATT had successful outcomes but not sure if available outside of Birmingham

Private Endo Surgery
Hi everyone, For those of you who have had surgery for endo treated privately can you share what I can expect at my inital consultation, what next steps were? I have preemptively sent my most recent MRI/Ultrasound and medical history. Was an examination carried out at first consult? I’ve realised today

Hubbys assessment and now me. (Menopause and liver???)
So hubby had his second assessment ant the beginning of May and it went ok. As I thought might be the case they have given him another month to build him up and get him strong before they make the final decision. I can see that he wouldn’t cope with surgery at the mo so we are ok with the results.
