Post laparotomy
Hello dear ladies, I am 5 days post my
debulking
surgery
which went quite well. So far I have not had major issues… except bowel problems. Now they are talking about post op ileus or intestinal paralysis. Has anyone experienced this complication? What was done to treat it

Hi lovely ladies 💟 My mums off for
debulking
surgery
tomorrow, and I'd love to know if anyone has any tips on anything that made the recovery easier or anything you really appreciated after surgery that would be amazing.

Hello
I’ve had full
debulking
surgery
and have just finished my 6th (and final scheduled) round of carbo/taxol chemo. I’m BRCA negative. I’m keen to find out if any women here with the same subtype are taking any preventative medications? Anyway- a problem shared is a problem halved right? 😊

4 days after debulking surgery
hi all, Mum had her
debulking
surgery
on Thursday evening and it was very successful. Full removal of ovaries, uterus, omentun, appendix etc. However she is really really struggling with pain as they think the bowel has gone to sleep. This also means she’s not really slept.

Stomach cramps
My mum is 6 weeks post primary
debulking
surgery
, and bowel resection and is still having some bowel issues. She's had pretty bad stomach cramping all day today. Is this normal? Does anyone have any tips? She's still on laxatives and drinking peppermint tea for gas.

Is it possible to get back to Platinum based chemo?
After
debulking
surgery
and many treatments, her cancer was declared platinum-resistant. Following this, she received 6 rounds of Doxorubicin + Bevacizumab, which kept her stable.

Small amount of ascites on scan
Received 3 rounds chemo then
debulking
surgery
followed by 3 more rounds of chemo. I have had 3 CT scans through June all showed NED even though CA 125 was rising. This latest scan showed no tumors but a very small amount of ascites. My oncologist believes cancer is recurring.

Ascites
Major
surgery
and in hospital for a week. Much worse than
debulking
surgery
. I have what I feel is ascites, huge abdomen looking 7 months pregnant. I have consultant follow up tomorrow after being cancelled twice. Just a bit worried what tomorrow might bring. Anyone has anything similar? xx

CA-125: Never elevated (but diagnosed Stage3A2 in Nov 2022)
My tumor markers have always been “normal” although Ultrasound and CT scans detected masses before my
debulking
surgery
(total hysterectomy). I completed 6 rounds of carbo/paxil in April 2023 and have been NED since then.

carbo/gem
I was diagnosed high grade stage 3c peritoneal in Autumn 2021, I have had carbo/taxol/avastin,
debulking
surgery
. Followed by avastin alone which did not work, then carbo/caelyx which worked very well. I have had just over a year on Niraparib but sadly it is no longer working.

Anyone used tamoxifen for recurrence of ovarian cancer?
Hi dear ladies, I had CA125 check after 2,5 months and it jumped from 12 to 88 (since
debulking
surgery
in April 2023, it was max 8). I had some minor abnormalities in my scan in Jan.

HIPEC
Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in December, I’ve since had 3 cycles of chemo (to which I’ve had a good response) and will be having
debulking
surgery
soon. My surgeon has said I am suitable for HIPEC.

liver concerns
I had clear cell ovarian cancer and had
debulking
surgery
and hysterectomy a year ago. I recently had sudden right side and back pain and had a scan with blood work. Everything came out ok except my liver numbers (ast and alt) were super high. Could this indicate the start of a reoccurrence?

Recovering from debulking
Hi - I had successful
debulking
surgery
2 weeks ago (womb, ovaries, omentum, bit of the peritoneum) and am walking quite well, albeit slowly. There is not too much pain, most of it seems to be intestinal.

When should chemo restart post interval debulking surgery?
Hello ladies I am almost 5 weeks post surgery now and my consultant is happy to restart me on chemo now. Just wondered what experiences others have had in terms of coping with the ongoing recovery & chemo side effects. Thank you 🤗
