Call to GP tomorrow
Hi, well I went to the GP practice hoping to collect my medical certificate since I have been feeling terrible. The receptionist told me no medical certificate had been done for me to be covered for a month starting from the 23rd August because they are not done in advance. I have been told to post it

Cyanosis (blue fingers) and incontinence with B12 deficiency?
I am becoming more and more convinced that I have a functional B12 deficiency and will be arranging an active B12 test in short order. However, I am also currently being treated for iron deficiency (ferritin of 4) and despite starting on ferrous fumarate 305mg once a day I do not feel better; if anything

Treatment for iron-deficiency anaemia: would it affect the dose of thyroxine?
I've just started on ferrous fumarate for iron-deficiency anaemia (IDA). I feel more tired now than I did before, and this has got me thinking: does treatment of IDA have any effect on free T4 levels? Is it possible that by treating the IDA one needs to dial up or down the current dose of thyroxine?

Hi, looking at my stash of unused thyroid medication I have only just noticed - it's only taken me 20 years!!! - that my 50mcgs of t4 are simply levothyroxine, but many of my old 25mcgs are levothyroxine sodium. Does anyone know what the chemical difference is? It is funny because I always asked for

Rapid decline after DBS?
Good morning, My dad had DBS just over two weeks ago now. He had the leads placed two weeks ago this past Friday, and then the battery placed this past Wednesday. He has struggled mightily since the surgery. He seemed to have been in rapid decline since approximately April, and now we are at wits end

Addicted to Sinemet?
Hi all - I think I mentioned in a previous post that my dad was "abusing" his Sinemet, to the point of being dangerously overmedicated. Is it possible to be "addicted" to Sinemet and if so, can you wean off of it and get back to "normal"? My dad had DBS last Friday, and although his program director

DBS from Boston Scientific
DBS from Boston Scientific Hi all, I'm about to get DBS Vercise as treatment for my tremor dominant PD. This is the result of having had the Medtronic DBS, in for three months with little benefit. I gather that there is little on the internet about this new form of DBS because it is not yet approved
