Just a quick comment on iron
Hello All A few years ago when I was trying to get my body sorted out and having regular blood tests it seemed my iron levels were through the roof for no apparent reason. The Doc asked me if I was taking iron supplements, which I was not. In conversation with a friend, she asked me if I was drinking

Blood Test Results
My doctor phoned me yesterday to give me an overview of my test results. I'm still B12 deficient even though levels improved slightly. B6 levels dropped, I guess because it wasn't treated when I had my initial B12 shots months back. Something even nastier popped up as well. My iron levels dropped by

Helping my Younger Brother
My 51-year-old brother was diagnosed with Young Onset, 4.5 years ago. He has been on many different meds, is still having problems. “Clinical outcomes of asleep vs awake deep brain stimulation for Parkinson disease,”
Good to know: "The results, published in the journal Neurology, suggested that it is better for patients to sleep through the surgery. Additionally, traditional forms of deep brain stimulation surgery often cause patients to lose speech fluency. Matthew Brodsky, MD, an associate professor of neurology

"Off's" and Requip problems
Hi everyone, To"Parkies" who have a lot of "off" looks as if you need a revision of your medicines. A neurologist who has a special interest in Parkinsons is the best. Requip is a good medicine, but I have experienced vivid dreams, and not much REM sleep. The neuologist reduced Requip depå till 2mg/

Hypothyroidism and complications?
I'm a new member. I've just had my thyroxine increased after scans showed my pituitary gland is very enlarged and pressing on my brain and my TSH levels are totally out of control. I also have a growth in the centre of my brain which could be a pineal cyst or something worse also creating pressure on

Any reason not to start supplements?
Hello. I already take levothyroxine but went to the gp feeling generally unwell. I got a call to say b12 157 (range 197-771) ferritin 10 (range 13-150) folate 2.7 (range 3.9-26.8) hb 118(range 115-160) and that I’d have to start supplements. But none were prescribed but mentioned doing coeliac bloods

Hemoglobin dropped and iron tablets not working
Hi all! It's truly all a balancing act isn't it? Within 6 weeks time my hemoglobin dropped from 14 down to 10. My iron was very low so the iron tablets aren't getting absorbed so I'm back to iron infusions. My folate and b12 levels both very good. Guess it truly is a balancing act. My horrid cold is

Coeliac Blood tests
I am a vegetarian and eat only a small amount of fish but a huge variety of veggies and fruit etc. I have just had this years tests and all were fine except my iron which had dropped to 11. Since diagnosis I have had an issue with iron levels - originally on daily tablets but they made me very sick
