Levothyroxine and iron prescription
hi everyone, Just been told I’ve got low iron by the dr from my bloods and was looking online that you can’t take levo and iron together and they have to be taken on an empty stomach. Please can someone confirm is this is correct? Thank you for your help.

I had compiled this list for another forum. Trust it will be helpful for heathunlocked readers, too. BBB = Blood Brain Barrier CD = Carbidopa CD/LD = Comination of carbidopa and levodopa C/L = Carbidopa/levodopa CNS = Central Nervous System CR = Controlled Relase DA = Dopamine agonist DBS

Adrenals or Not Adrenals
Well, further to my post last week, I've had the results of both my faecal occult blood test (for new re-occurring digestive issues) and BNP blood test (for indications of heart failure) and all have come back normal with no further action required. The extreme fatigue has improved significantly

Iron panel results
In early Sept my ferritin came back: 25.9 (10-291) so I asked for an iron panel. I am a bit confused by the transferrin result as I have read that if low iron then transferrin should be high? Mine is below range. Oct 22: Ferritin: 28.9 (10-291) Iron serum: 13.7 (9-30.4) Transferrin: 2.42 (2.5

Is it all about the range?
Hi everyone I was just reading up on thyroid globulin antibodies as I had a test done by Medichecks in Aug 2022 which had me within normal range and I was wondering whether people without thyroid problems had these antibodies too.
Thyroid Globulin Antibodies (TgAb) 48IU/L (reference <115)

Hello everyone. My long awaited appointment at the gp surgery finally arrived and I was seen by a somewhat inexperienced health care assistant who suggested I drink a glass of tonic water before bed to help with my RLS! When I tried to explain my research, this forum and the Mayo Clinic algorithm

Deep Brain Stimulation
Study from China on Parkinson's patients with RLS showed Deep Brain Stimulation reduced RLS & helped sleep.I certainly wouldn't consider it. Seems too extreme but if the Parkinson's patients are having the treatment to help tremor, it would be sensible to see if stimulation in another area relieves RLS

Supplements for iron
I have had the following blood tests: Serum ferritin level 41 ug/L [10.0 - 322.0] Serum folate level 23.5 ug/L [5.4 - 24.0] Should I take some iron tablets to boost my ferritin levels and if so what dosage should I be taking?

levothyroxine/Teva/mannitol
hi everyone.. It’s just come to my notice that Levothyroxine which I’ve been taking for about 25 years or so contains “mannitol “ As I have very bad restless legs for about the same amount of years and getting worse … I was wondering how long mannitol has been in levothyroxine ? Also.. would it affect

RLS/PLMs and treatment
I would like to share information concerning my health particularly in relation to RLS/PLMs hoping that others with the condition may be helped. My experience of RLS could go back to my teens when, whilst seated and playing cards with my brother, we would both be moving our legs quite rapidly, toes

Continuous Electrical Neuromodulation of the Globus Pallidus Intern in Parkinson's Disease by the Directional Electrode
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT05626608 The hypothesis is that the efficacy of DBS in directional mode will be more effective on the motor signs of Parkinson's disease compared to omnidirectional stimulation and bipolar mode, with a better tolerance profile (fewer side effects).

Iron supplementation
I apologize, I have been looking at past posts but having trouble finding the best answer. I most likely have RLS, and doc wants to increase my Ferritin to 100. They recommend iron but don't say what kind, or how best to take it. Other then that the Neurologist was fantastic. So I was hoping some

What do these blood test results mean, please.
These are the results of the blood tests I had done earlier this month. My doctor didn't tell me to fast beforehand, but thanks to advice from this site I had fasted for the previous 12 hours. The doctor has now told me that no action needs to be taken, but I note that one of the readings shows that
