Advice on blood results please
Hi everyone, I would appreciate some input into my latest( and former)results please. I have been up and down with Hashis some time now, it now seems to be getting more erratic. It started Aug, 2016 when I was feeling jittery etc., so went to my gp to ask for blood test. These were all taken early morning

Low heamoglobin/ferritin and giving blood
I recently had a blood test that came back with low heamoglobin and low ferritin levels which would indicate some sort of iron deficiency. With that being said, I've given blood three times (only twice successfully) in a year and my iron levels were checked in the beginning each time and were good enough

Totally weird bloodtest results!! Help please!!
So my blood test results came back, and I have fairly low ferritin (65.8 - ref. Range: 10-291) but high iron (33.8 - ref. Range: 8.8-27). I'm not taking any iron supplements, haven't taken any for years apart from 1 bottle of Floradix last summer. My transferrin was 2.63 (ref. Range: 2.00-3.80). B12

Histamine Intolerance and DAO deficiency, Gut problems
Does anyone have any information on
DAO
deficiency
(the enzyme needed to break down histamines in the gut) or Histamine Intolerance in general? Does anyone know how these conditions could be related to Hashimoto’s, or other thyroid/auto-immune conditions?

Urinary metabolomics reveals glycemic and coffee associated signatures of thyroid function in two population-based cohorts
One of the fundamental questions about thyroid hormones is precisely what they do. Even from where we are today, with unbelievably sensitive techniques for investigating biochemical pathways, we end up saying things like "thyroid hormone affects metabolism". That sort of approach, whilst fundamentally

No folic acid without B12 first.
I've read this quite a lot - it is important to not take folic acid before supplementing with B12 if you have a deficiency in both. The reasons given are 1. It can mask the megaloblastic anaemia caused by B12d, delaying a diagnosis of B12 deficiency. and 2. It can exacerbate the neurological damage caused

Iron deficiency anemia....85% of us!!!
Hi folks, I finished my FEC on the 30th of April, my Radiation in September and had a total hysterectomy in December. I thought my total fatigue was normal considering. I also had residual damage to my thyroid function from the chemo so it took a bit to titrate my dose of levothyroxine

Changing from NDT to Levothyroxine
Hi all, I've been taking NDT (Thyroid-S) now for 3 years and have done pretty well on it. I have followed the guidelines from STTM regarding supplementing my low iron, D3 and B12 in that time, although for around the past 6 months I've cut back a bit on iron and D3 because of the cost. According to
