Hi Folks, this is my first post on the forum but have reading posts and have learnt valuable information since joining last month - thanks, its great to feel I am not alone. I no longer consider that I am lucky, quite the opposite - it always feels like a battle to get doctors to agree to anything or

Dreadful treatment for Low Adrenal Reserve
Hi. I'm new here. I'm also finding treatment for LAR/adrenal fatigue very confusing. My background is, I have had inflammatory bowel disease for 36 years, which was managed reasonably by immune suppressants. I also developed 2 damaged discs in my lower back in 2010. I was living in Spain at the time

Hi everyone my name is Cara and have decided to embark on an 8 week course of treatment to rid this virus from my system so I can have the life nature intended. I have been infected for 18 years. As an artist i have a predisposition to depression but I really think that having hep c is made me lethargic

Antibiotics and vitamin C could kill cancer cells
Antibiotics and vitamin C could kill cancer cells In case this hasn't already been posted, it makes me wonder if the chemo, Doxil, which is an 'antibiotic type of chemo' is related to doxycycline, and if so, then could Vit C be given along with the Doxil chemo via the same IV?: Mon, 12 Jun 2017 12:

My Mental Health Symptoms gone - Changed my way of eating
Please take a few minutes to read my Profile on healthunlocked, as it will explain what thyroid illness did to my mental health. I have had a horrendous physical illness for 36 years. It was diagnosed as Hypothyroidism, but in fact it turned out to be a long-winded named illness – Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis

Cholesterol Advisory Board in U.S. Tied to Statin Manufacturers
There's an old saying - 'the fish stinks from the head down'. Here's a link to an article which itself contains evidence supporting its finding - that those who are responsible for establishing the cholesterol guidelines in the United States are receiving compensation from statin manufacturers. https

Subclinical hypothyroidism: A common finding in adult patients with cyanotic congenital heart disease
It hurts when I read papers like this one. They observe, examine prevalence, consider etiologies and evaluate thyroid function. And appear to leave the poor patients untreated. At least until it becomes "overt". We might suspect that the categorisation of Subclinical Hypothyroidism wouldn't meet with

Post transplant CMV Mismatch
Hi All My husband had a liver transplant on 28.11.17 and having looked at his medication and read his discharge note it says he has been prescribed Valganciclovir as he has a high risk CMV mismatch. Having googled it - sounds serious - has anyone else come across this and I am not sure of the implications

Update on coming off statins after 20 years
just like to share with you my progress .after 20 years of being on a statin 10mg liptor /crestor I finally dispatched them to the rubbish bin on the 20th Nov 2017 . Sounds very bravado doesn't it but in essence I have wrestled to do this for many years . A triple bypass in 2005 made me seriously question

Boosting the immune system after chemo and alternative treatments
Good morning from Seattle. Last night I watched an interesting documentary on Amazon Prime called "Cancer Can be Killed." It documented alternative therapies being used in Germany (hyperthermia, Vitamin C infusions, Laetrile etc.) as well as a couple of similar clinics in the U.S. I have mixed

My Father's Journey / Interest in High Dose Testoserone
Hi guys, I would like to share with you the journey that we have undergone through my Father’s PCa. My Father is 78, is asymptotic and still works everyday running his business. Even way back in 2002 my Father’s PSA was 19, but biopsies were always negative as were scans. Although we can assume

HELP ! WHICH SUPPLEMENTS TO TAKE ?
Does anyone else struggle with which supplements to take.... I’m not the slightest bit scientifically minded, which doesn’t help, but do my best to assimilate and understand all I can... I read what the experts suggest......unfortunately advice given never marries up with any products that are out there

Is it OK to take B vitamins and D3 at same time?
Morning everyone I’m so sorry to ask this basic question but I’ve searched the site to try to find the answer. I take levo at bedtime. I’ve been taking B12, a B complex, D3, K2 and selenium with breakfast. (It makes it easier to get some iron and vitamin C in later in the day, as I know they need to

How to be Diagnosed
I'm 99% sure I have lupus but have no idea how to get diagnosed (and have no health insurance). I've had blood work done over the last 6 years and the results show a infection and inflammation of the organs (The C Reactive protein normal range is 0-4.9. Mine is 28.2) 2-3 times a year I have flare ups

Overwhelmed
I just turned 22. I have PBC, hypothroide, & Hep C. My spleen is also enlarged cause of this. I know I'll need a liver transplant, but I'm way too scared to do anything just yet. I'd like to experience a little more in life & travel a bit. I've changed my eating habits & what I eat. I stay away from

A risk-free life is far from being a healthy life.
Vitamin C and vitamin E. In one study, high doses of these antioxidant vitamins helped delay the need for medication. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). Has been used to treat Parkinson disease, but it is controversial. Vitamin B6 can make some Parkinson disease medications less effective. Naturally-oriented
