Savings Eggs for BRCA Positive young women before BSO.
Okay, here is my problem: I have a beautiful 41 year old daughter, who is not in a relationship now and doesn’t see one in the near future, but, like me, she is BRCA1 positive. Because this Ovarian Cancer is such an awful disease, especially as I am in treatment for my first recurrence, I was anxious

So very depressed
So, here we go again. I am so sad about the holidays. I am lonely, angry, frustrated, sad. Most of it is my situation. I am mom to a high functioning autistic child. Don't get me wrong, I love her dearly. It is just a 24/7 job with no relief and no breaks. I feel like I am starting to resent her

Assessment before hysterectomy
I saw my gynaecologist today who has agreed that my best course of treatment would be to have a full laproscopic hysterectomy carried out. He has said that I won't see him again and he will have an urgent referral made to a colleague for counseling prior to the surgery. Can anyone tell me if this is

Ways to stay motivated after panic attacks?
Hello, I'm new here and I decided to join because I need to talk to people who understand what I'm going through without having to worry the ones I love. About 2 months ago, I had two panic attacks (one happening 2 weeks after the other). I have found it hard to stay motivated every day since then. I

It’s okay...
We cannot heal a lifetime of pain overnight, with one post or one counselling session. But we can all slowly heal over time . Time does heal . And having patience with ourselves does help x I hope this helps anyone who is stuck in a dark hole thinking they’ll never get out of it . You will x we will

First counselling tomorrow
Ive never been for counselling before. How much do I tell them? do they want to know about all my life woes or do I just stick to IVF? I am super emotional at the moment, work stress combined with family issues, sisters baby, IVF round 2 looming but late period so can't start... and stupid things like

To Those Left Behind After a Suicide
So a little context here -- I wrote this a couple of months ago after a series of three suicides in a short period of time touched my life. Having been suicidal myself and nearly taking my own life 2.5 years ago, my brain started spinning and I ended up composing a large chunk of the following letter

ASH paper re younger MPN patients, dx age <= 40
Hi younger MPN'ers, I do not very often come across papers aimed at younger MPN patients so thought I would highlight this one that is being presented at the ASH conference in December. Nice to see that younger patients are being considered. 3033 Myeloproliferative Neoplasms in Young Patients: The Mayo

How do you solve a problem like Maria’s??
How do you solve a problem like Maria’?? My friend, Maria, diagnosed out of the blue in her mid forties 10 years ago is now battling problems with freezing and lack of balance. Her freezing can be unpredictable and happens anytime in spite of medication. Stress seems to play a big role as the trigger

Cabin Fever
Ok.. so I haven’t left the house now for nearly 3 weeks.. been sick off work as I am in terrible pain. I had my first Toci infusion and my neck and shoulders flared up so bad after I can’t move! My husband called 111 on Saturday and they sent the paramedics round who were brilliant of course! Morphine

After going to counseling for ...
After going to counseling for a while in August I thought I improved on my anxiety and that I was a bit better. I didn't have any friends for a few years until this September I managed to make some and I am friends with two girls but I can't be myself around them and it's like all the progress I made

A midnight farewell.
Humans are complex beings, to say the least; And as such, if something goes wrong mentally, it tends to create a mental ripple effect doesn’t it? Causing things like emotional and behavioural changes, and what not. My past experiences for example, I fell for someone, happiest I’ve ever been, then they

My boss is pregnant 😩😩😩
My boss told me yesterday she is pregnant and I'm distraught. She's in her late 30s and never wanted children as far as I know. Although she sadly had a miscarriage earlier this year she fell by accident so it was a big shock for her and me! I had a miscarriage last April which I don't think I'll ever

If you're truly suffering reach for help... I hope I can make it through this without meds because I just recently
