I have posted previously that I was down with viral infection 25 days ago. Fever, cough and then I started feeling pressure on my left lung at a specific place as if something was blocked and crazy shortness of breath. I am an anxiety and panic patient so everything exacerbated for me. I was diagnosed

itchy, itchy skin?
hi everyone, I know skin can get dry and itchy in winter - but my husband seems exceptionally itchy (mainly arms and legs, a bit on his back too) to the point that he is starting to have tiny scabs. Yes, not pleasant to write (or read) about! The itchy areas have small but visible bumps. He’s not one

The Plot Thickens…
I posted a few days ago about shoulder pain. It has got worse and is in both shoulders and is affecting my neck. It is far worse in the morning. My Osteopath gave me a private doctor’s contact details so I could see them for a cortisone injection. I had the appointment this morning and it turned out

Hair loss while tapering Prednisone
Hi. Yet another issue. My hair has started falling out in clumps. I am devastated. I had some loss when I was on Pred at different times over the last 5 years especially in the beginning. I began tapering to 2 mg then 1 in late spring and maintaining that except with some flares when I took more. This

adrenal gland & thyroid
I recently read a book “The Great Thyroid Scandal (and how to avoid it)’ and “ticked” my way through the book as I have had 90% of the various symptoms detailed in the book for the past 30 years. It suggested that the adrenal gland & thyroid work closely together & if thyroid is not functioning as it

Help needed -- direction of travel
I am an active 79 year old located down in the pointy end of Cornwall, UK. I have led a healthy life except for the onset of Atrial Fibrillation at 65 (2010) and at 71 (2015), the onset of osteoarthritis in right knee. This is now just beginning to affect left knee but is all manageable at this stage

Cortisone injection and possible side affect
I have recently had a cortisone injection by a doctor at the hospital for arthritis, and a week later I have started to get palpitations and tiredness. Could these be temporary? Does it affect TSH or T3 conversion? The doctor said it shouldn’t affect the thyroid but there is a possibility of it going

Cortisone shot
I have been advised to have a cortisone shot for my shoulder pain. Recently my rls has been so much better due to cutting sugar and alcohol from my diet. I'm still on a very low dose of mirapexin 0.09mgs which I take at 9pm. Every ten days I come off the Mirapexin and take 3 days of tramadol. This routine
