My partner has been diag with carpel tunnel syndrome and a bit of googling and the GP says it can be caused by thyroid issues. She also has Fibromyalgia and low thyroid which we are working on slowly as she is finding it hard to tolerate any more than 1/2 a Grain of Armour. My question is has anyone

Cortisone Injections?
Hi Does anyone have information on whether one can receive cortisone shots for various injuries unrelated to PC without adversely impacting one’s ADT treatment? I am in physical therapy for an injured shoulder and recently had a cortisone shot and forgot to consult my MO before receiving it. I was

I am down to 2mg prednisone. Not noticing typical PMR symptoms
After I got on Methotrexate and Hydroxychloroquine, the right hand wrist and finger swelling went away, and I was able to start dropping pred from 5 to 4 to 3 to 2 now. While I am glad for this, I am mad that only a rheumy was smart-experienced enough to think of it, I likely could have saved months

Flare confirmed with PET scan
This is an update which I promised from my previous post and I have some questions at the end. About a month ago I reported that I had stopped Tocilizumab and I was waiting to see if the GCA had gone into remission. I had no GCA symptoms and no eye problems confirmed by the ophthalmologist. I felt better

Severe itching
We went to ER today because rash and itching are escalating. They gave him a cortisone shot and a benedryl shot. So far, it has not made a difference. They gave him script for prednisone and hydroxyzine. We have appt to see oncologist tomorrow. Something has to give. He is getting no sleep.

Hi, Could really do with some advice at the moment. I’m taking 100mcg Levo and 6mcgs Lio. I’ve been ok. Not 100% but then I’m considerably better than 2 yrs ago when I started treatment. I dropped my Levo down to 100 ( from 125) 3 weeks ago so I cant give you latest bloods yet as I’m waiting a little

advice needed re sick caretaker
my husband who does everything—lifting laundry, hanging it up, emptying the dishwasher, doing most of meal prep, taking out trash, etc., is on crutches with perhaps a torn meniscus. So I’m fetching for him and trying to keep our home in some sort of routine and my pmr isn’t liking it. Before his injury

Rheumatologist appt
Hi, just an update. Saw rheumatologist today, he doesnt think I have PMR (too young for that, in his opinion) and instead thinks "fibromyalgia" alongside with "mechanical issues" as ultrasound in May showed shoulder bursitis and tendiopathy, calcification plus trocherantic hip bursitis. Gave me 2 cortisone

First IVIG infusion
I've learned so very much here in this group, from so many here, Thank you all. Although I post very little and do read and am concerned for everyone. I want to ask what are some of your experiences with getting IVIG ? Side effects ? Reactions ? I've been told very little by Dr and PA. Dr did say

How to add adrenal support (on NDT)
I think I need to add adrenal support to my NDT but looking for some help on the practicalities and open to ideas about whether this is my problem. Specifically, do I need to stop NDT first? If so, how slowly should I taper off? I'd really like to spend as little time as necessary feeling so hypo!

numb painful thigh
This is a new thing for me… I’ve had fibromyalgia for years but started with a pain the outside of my right thigh - originally smaller than my palm (it’s now much larger) I’ve had a cortisone injection which did nothing. I’ve tried naproxen. Today the pain is starting in the other leg. It’s affecting

Possible Prednisone Allergy?
Hi all, I'm a GCA patient, diagnosed in AUG 2022. I started on 60 MG pred and have weaned down to 10 MG at present. About 2 months ago I started getting an unusual rash on my hands and wrists -- back then it was only reddish. But it kept getting worse and worse, and now it's an actual bumpy rash
