PRP& Shock-Wave therapy for SI pain
I'm a 69 year old man with DDD and Arthritis and I had a cortisone injection in my SI joint about 6 weeks ago and it took care of about 50% of the pain. I just went in for my follow-up with the doctor and he recommended PRP along with shock Wave therapy going forward to help heal the inflammation in

Adrenal tumour - anyone here with experience with it?
Hey everyone, My aldosterone levels are very elevated at 409 (range up to 190). I'm waiting for the adrenal MRI. My endo said he's suspecting adrenal adenoma since my ACTH was low, blood cortisol high, unable to raise thyroid meds or raising and having symptoms. Anyone here diagnosed with it or know

Had cortisone injection
Went to St Luke's yesterday was in and out. First attempt missed. Second didn't really hurt just more intense pressure. The Dr was very nice and friendly. It was difficult to get to the hospital and parking. We just got lucky. I'm sore today but I have bursitis anyway.. I would recommend the procedure

Suspected Cushings or just hypo
Hey everyone, My endo is sending me for an MRI of pituitary and CT of chest, pelvis, abdomen and adrenals. My salivary cortisol seems to go up a lot after adding t3, my blood cortisol is over range and I'm having issues raising thyroid meds, keeping me in a hypo state. Apparently I could have a tumour

cortisone shot
I had to have 5 cortisone injections into my ankle and metasal due to arthritis. I’ve noticed that since I had them my heart rate really drops. I’m 70 yrs old but noticed my resting heart rate drops to 44 - 56. It does rise during day. I had this before in February when I had a nerve block done. is

INSULIN TOLERANCE TEST - Low cortisol & chronic insomnia
I’m still battling to get to the bottom of my chronic insomnia. I have low cortisol, also oestrogen and testosterone (despite HRT) and DHEA. I’ve had a Short Synacthen Test, which I passed as most thyroid people do. So I now know the problem doesn’t lie with the adrenals. I presume it’s with the

Adrenal glandulars
Hi all I'm just looking for an adrenal glandular supplement to address phase 3 adrenal dysfunction as per recent Regenerus lab result. I've since had a syncathen test but no diagnosis. I find alot of confusing information when I google these supplements as alot of them mention as "balancing adrenals"

Apixaban and joint injection
Hello, I’m having a Cortisone injection into my shoulder next week. I’ve been advised by the clinic that I don’t need to omit taking Apixaban at all before the procedure. Looking online, it says to stop taking it between 24 hours and 3 days before. I am thinking of just missing the morning dose on the

How cortisone/pred works - a new study reports on a potential target to replace steroids
I thought you'd be interested in this article about a study from Germany which has worked out how pred works - and knowing that is the basis for developing other drugs to replace it. https://www.news-medical.net/news/20240410/Study-unlocks-how-cortisone-activates-the-bodye28099s-natural-e2809cbrakese2809d-on-inflammation.aspx
