waiting on phone appointment like 5 mins ago. just get letter says as loads of bollocks, basically as CCP and RF neg it's osteo with a bit of inflammation, letter says wants to try cortisone injections and if it helps she'll consider hydroxychloroquine, not what I remembered but I was quite angry.
So as I was typing this she rang, we have had a free and frank discussion, I told her about what I thought we had discussed/decided, managed to stay calm, no sweary words🤫. I have explained my position on cortisone injections, I have had them in various bits of my body, they are painful and although they may provide some improvement it is not complete, short lived and of no long term benefit. I politely declined, she accepted and said she would px hydroxychloroquine and will have it sent to house. Told her wasn't happy about ? osteoarthritis versus inflammatory, said I was disappointed as was hoping to get more clarity, she argued her case well, seemed to take my concerns on board and said it was an ongoing process, at the moment my symptoms, test results etc do not fit any clear tidy little box to be able to say definitively which exact diagnosis would fit. But that they will try to make things better. I said wasn't happy about fact it was my mobility being poor and pain in my feet /calcifying achilles wasn't being addressed when it was this I had tormented the GP for referral for as it was getting worse and the things she has suggested have already been tried and failed. She has agreed to refer to "Foot and Ankle clinic" couldn't help but laugh, my Mum has always called it the Fu***n Ankle clinic,
I think i managed to stay reasonably calm, no point burning bridges just yet, explained again about being ND, that sometimes what I say may not come across as intended, and that sometimes others don't always say what they mean either. So although not as happy as I had hoped I would be, it could have been worse.
On other news I am wrapping heat pads around me popping pain killers and back to wearing nice big fat period pads, Oh the Joy , men wouldn't cope with this rubbish

I'm sorry you're having a rough time. At least you've got hydroxy now, which is the first medicine used in a lot of rheumatological problems, so although she can't give you a clear diagnosis there's a good chance it will help a bit with the inflammation. Fingers crossed.
I'm so angry tonight. I've just had a clinic follow up letter back from the diabetic and high risk podiatry service and frankly its a greater work of fiction than Jane Eyre, I'm genuinely astonished and am wondering if it was me he saw or someone else. I'm even asking myself searching questions about whether I attended or did I imagine it.
It lists my co morbidities, pericarditis and appendectomy are not co morbidities, they were one off acute events, you cant use having your appendix out once as having any impact on your feet, unless the surgeon accidentally cut one off.
It says I have depression and anxiety, nope I havent had depression for 30 years since I had a baby. And its hardly relevant to my feet, ditto asthma and migraine. It states I have no balance issues, I absolutely do, been struggling with balance for 2 years. Which I mentioned several times.
Yes we discussed insoles, yes I've been trying to collect my NHS custom made ones, ordered 6 months ago however they were meant to ring me back and havent and I lost the will to live listening to elevator music whilst on hold, for ever.
The letter concludes that I was happy to be discharged from the podiatry surgery dept, no I emailed you just this morning asking for another appointment as my foot pain is getting worse and the insoles you recommended I buy, haven't helped. You said if they didnt help to come back and see you.
I'm going to take a deep breath, calm down and then contact them tomorrow to refute pretty much most of that letter. I want it on record that I absolutely disagree with practically everything in it. To think that was a 40 mile round trip to see him as well.
I get you Sparklingsunshine. However I am enjoying quite a few excellent quips from posters. Today it’s your turn for the prize of pulling me out of early morning misery. “Appendix and foot cut off”. I am shaking the bed with laughter. There could be a bit of hysteria involved here or maybe it can only be understood by this ‘group’ or maybe it’s just me. Thank you for your wit!
When I was ranting to my poor beleagured hubby last night I said its a good job firearms aren't legal as I felt like shooting the consultant, or myself 😆
Oh tell me about it, we could end up in the news for all the wrong reasons. Imagine the headlines, "Mild Mannered Lovely Woman goes berserk" neighbours say she was so nice, never had a cross word for anyone, except her Doctor no idea why she did it 🫣🤯🤭😂
Good job it isn’t really… with the current shortage of doctors in the NHS, if we all went out (you are most definitely not the only ones!) and did that, there’d be none left! But at least all the bad ‘uns would be gorn… 😂🤣😂
And the upshot of said letter, in a very pompous long winded way, full of Latin and medical blurb boiled down to the fact that as I have Ehlers Danlos I have flat feet and knock knees. Makes me sound like a hick out of the film "Deliverance" quite frankly. I'll just go and find my banjo 🎶🪕
