Well yesterday was my test day. I posted about it was going to be an angioplasty but I didn’t really want stents if there was a problem I wanted another bypass as it’s so close to my Quad CABG being done last year then I’d rather get it fixed then repaired. I had a long chat with the cardiologist and

Why do the docs love prescribing these type of drugs. I never had them prior to my cabg. I have suffered the dizziness and light headed ness but it’s the overwhelming fatigue that gets me down. So last week l decided to record my b/p twice a day to see if that sheds any light on the situation. Long story

waiting times
hello, Just curious on how long some folk had to wait before they had bypass surgery. I’ve spoken to a couple of gentlemen, one has been waiting for nearly two years for his tripple bypass and the other waited a year and half for his quad bypass. I need a single, possibly double bypass, but waiting

Gall bladder surgery
I was hospitalised last June for 10 days as I had an infected gall bladder and scans showed I had a large gall stone.I was put on intravenous antibiotics and pain killers. Fast forward 7 months and no further problems I had a phone call from the hospital giving me a date of 5th February for surgery

Blood test after x-ray
Despite having a lingering cough, my mum has had no other systems but decided to see the doctor. They suggested she have an x-ray. Anyway, they've asked her to have a blood test regarding her heart. Her cough seems to be getting better and she doesn't feel tired, had any chest pains or any other

Update on Dental Implant Surgery
A quick note to say that it all went well. I am currently on 3mg pred. The dental surgeon advised 10 mg the morning of the surgery. I was also given paracetamol and antibiotics. Tooth extracted, implant inserted with some bone graft. Not pleasant but it didn’t hurt at all. Followed the hygiene instructions

”Novel” myocardial bridge surgery - article
Hello for anyone interested and / or with a MB, I came across the article below which offers up a “novel” approach to CABG surgery for extensive bridges (greater than 5mm deep I interpreted that as). this article suggests a bypass with the LIMA from the point of entry to the point of exit. There is

PET Scan results -total ischemic burden 4%
I just got the results of my PET Scan and it was "total ischemic burden 4%". My cardiologist said "we start to worry when it is 10%. It must be a false positive. If that was a true result you would be feeling like there was an elephant on your chest." He didn't go into any further explanations. So I

Maze + LLA closure?
I've been a forum member for several years with my afib stories. Now, I am scheduled to have open chest triple bypass surgery this January 2nd, a prospect causing much anxiety (not over the procedure, per se, but the lengthy recovery time. Anyway........ The surgeon told me he could give me a bargain

wound care
hi. It’s been 4 weeks now since my bypass surgery. All is going fine. When is it ok to use soap and water on my chest wound or have a bath? Up to now I have been rinsing in shower and patting dry. It is healing fine.
