Taking part in Watchman trial to establish if it’s safe to come off anti-coagulants like Apixaban
Good afternoon everyone. On Thursday I am scheduled to go for a procedure to have a Watchman device fitted inside my heart at John Radcliffe Hospital here in Oxford under supervision of the Cardiac Research Team. I volunteered to do this as part of a world wide trial covering 3000 patients to assess

Hi My husband is 67 and had two stents 17 years ago . He has been fine up until now but due to some breathing issues has been checked out and one stent has started to block and there is stenosis before and after the stent in the LAD and a large branch before the stent showing tight proximal disease.

Post stent operation recovery
HI everyone. I had 1 stent fitted on 01/09/2022. I am really struggling, both physically and mentally since the operation. Doctor prescribed me statins and prasugel. I am now struggling with extreme fatigue, so I am turning to you for advice. Before I was diagnosed with 1 blocked artery

psychological problems since heart bypass
hi all, please can anyone offer me any advice on how best to support my 70yr old father following triple bypass surgery. He is having frequent nightmares and panic attacks following surgery. He has never suffered with his mental health before. Is this normal?what shall I do?how can I support him?

it's been a few stressful weeks, my mum unfortunately passed away just over two weeks from having the operation to mend her broken hip. She was 104 and I think at the end she just gave up, did get pneumonia. Had a few not very bad angina attacks which I think we're stress related as not had any

Back pain after stent
Sorry if this is a bit rambling but it's my first post. I used to get an intense pain horizontally across the middle of the back. It then went to the chest, throat and jaw. I used to get this on and off and put it down to digestion. In May 2021 I was diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease and had

Another stenosis close to first one!
Hi everyone. I had a stent fitted for a stenosis of my LAD artery 26/10/21. I continued to get chest pain which got much worse in May 2022 where I've since had to use my GTN spray whenever I'm active. I was reassured can't be cardio so must be gastro. I do have gastro issues and had an oesophageal

CT scans
Hi In July 2021 I had a CT scan to check my lymph nodes which were ok,But scan picked up that my coronary arteries were significantly calcified this might be causing my chest pain. In September 2022 I had a CT angiogram with contrast and my stents and arteries are clear. I had a stent in my LAD and

Palpitations post heart attack
Hi, I had a heart attack three months ago with one stent fitted. I’m 47 & so far all’s well with regards to no real post HA issues. About two weeks ago I started getting persistent palpitations/flutters every few minutes lasting 30-60 seconds each time. I’ve no pain or discomfort and feel well. Diet

Facing some tough times…
Dear All, I have seen so many of us on here sharing our stories of seeing our loved one in so much turmoil… I would like to join you tonight. Many years ago, it was here, where I got support while my husband went through transplants and surgeries following it… I was on here as Pear Shaped then.

Scuba with a stent ok?
I will speak to my GP before going ahead but thought i would see if the group had any experience for going to the GP. I'm 42 and had a stent fitted 18 months ago.otherwise fit and healthy.ive always wanted to scuba dive but have heard that this might not be possible after having a stent fitted.

Psychological support after CABG
I was wondering how I can help my husband to get over the trauma of what he went through. He just had a bypass at 42 years and this is making him realise how limited his life span is. I know he tries to be positive, but he cannot help but think about what he thinks is his "impending doom" . He said that

Medications side effects continue
Hello everyone, I hope your weekend is going well. I am now nearing 6 months post CABG x 4 and still struggling with nausea and vomiting from some of the meds. I was changed to Clopidogrel from Ticegrelor, and am also on Nebivolol. I can’t tolerate the statin tablet so that is an ongoing conversation

Failed CABG
Hi all. So just over two years ago I had a double CABG. I required a graft to my LAD and OM2 artories. Over the last 6 months I have been having some angina-like pains and have just had the results from a cardio CT scan which shows my OM2 graft has failed. However, the cardiologist reckons that this
