Original arteries and CABG
Hi all. So im wondering what happens to the arteries that have been bypassed. I know they are still there, but are they functioning still? Or do they just dry up or something? I've Googled but cant find any answer. Thanks

how do you prepare for bypass!
Hi Just after a little bit of advice on how I can prepare myself for a bypass surgery, I only found out before Xmas after an angiogram they couldn’t fit stent because of where the blockage is in the left internal mammary artery. So I’ve been referred but now my mind is going into overdrive thinking

heart failure…. How to help
Hi all, my husband has been diagnosed with heart failure in the past few days. He is currently in hospital following a high AF attack. He is also a diabetic - they are tinkering with his meds currently- but no mention of surgery. He had a stent fitted five years ago. I’m so frightened that I am going

Dental Surgery and bone graft needed. Will prednisone inhibit the bone graft from taking?
Hi everyone! I just had the most painful root canal on my right front tooth last week! So bad I was bodily shaking. I was informed that the infection has been brewing for quite some time and has caused an area of the bone under my nose not to grow around the root. The endodontist put me on an antibiotic

Listen to your body.
Hi all, just a reminder to have any symptoms checked out. I had a left side stent fitted in January 2019 and went through the usual worries and stresses with this unexpected procedure. Lost weight and kept up my healthy walking habits along with upper body exercises. All went great until 3 months ago

Orbita trial.
Well tomorrow morning I will finally know whether I had a stent fitted during my last angiography at the beginning of September last year. If I haven't it's going to be a bit of a dilemma as to whether to go for a stent or not as I have been relatively angina free (and when I have had its been relatively

Referral for Angiogram
After a recent telephone conversation with a cardiologist I am being referred for an angiogram (with angioplasty if required). Over the last two years have begun to find hills a little harder. Looking for good advice and positive comments on how I can prepare myself prior to the procedure for good outcomes

Update
My visit to breast assessment clinic yesterday after my recent mammogram showed an area of concern in right breast. I had cancer with treatment to my left breast 2020 so an area of concern in my other breast was not what I wanted to hear. I spent the afternoon having scans, ultrasounds and several

Has anyone else stopped taking a daily statin?
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if I'm alone in deciding that I no longer wish to continue taking statins? I'm into my ninth week of recovery following Bypass Surgery. I'm extremely aware that compared to a lot of people who have found themselves in my situation I'm blessed. The only fly in the ointment

Nervous about upcoming bypass surgery
Hello all. I’ve got heart bypass scheduled soon and worries are creeping in. It’s all happened really fast with me being in my early 40s and fairy active. Then being told post angiogram that a triple bypass is needed (mainly due to genetics I’m told). Any advice would be great.

Symptoms a year after CABG, 20 months after Heart Attack.
I would be interested in the experiences of others relating to the aftermath of CABG surgery. Potted history: From around summer 2017 when aged 60, I started to feel a mild tingling and "tight" sensation sometimes under my left ribs, sometimes in my back around the same height. It continued on and

Feeling positive
So 9 months after heart attack and stent treatment I'm now off 2 pills Colpidogrel and Ramipril. Still taking 3 but feel it's positive. Always been active and healthy and many hobbies so this was a mega shock. But now feeling great getting back to most of my activities and my lovely 9 month old border

Since HA and stent in November on the usual meds, atorvastatin, ticagrelor, bisoprolol, aspirin, mononitrate

Stopping Statins
hi guys after a year last year, of frightening chest pains and ? Heart attacks, going through umpteen tests and a stent procedure ( they didn’t put one in as my heart disease was not significant enough). I went from being on 5 daily meds for my heart to then being discharged completely with just taking
