Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)

You may recall my request for information after my 73yr old brother had his Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG). He is now 4 weeks post-op and was doing very well, until this morning when he began to experience pain in his chest and his left arm.

This weekend marks the anniversary of my triple CABG. First part of my celebration was completed this morning when I ran my first parkrun. Second part will be tomorrow morning when I have my first full English breakfast for over a year.

Cardiac arrest for 8 minutes, they couldn't do normal CPR due to just having CABG.

I have had my pre-op this week and been given my list of instructions, some soap and ointment for my nose (precautions against contracting any other nasties before or during my stay). I had my CABG in November last year, and can only just sleep on my side now, but not always! Still revert to back sleeping in between! good luck - you will be fine , we have an amazing support network out there .

Hi my hubby had CABG X3 6 weeks ago. Fortunately our insurance covered it, as mine 9 mths waiting list. He's not heard anything re cardiac rehab. When would that normally start or will he not get referred as went private? He is walking ok, chest bones still very sore.

Hi everyone, my partner had his urgent CABG last Monday so is 7 days Post Op. Thank you for all your help and support to date He was discharged on Saturday. Op was ok but a few biochemistry glitches but he was up and about & transferred from CITU to Cardiac Ward by Wed.

I am a 53 year old active and apparently healthy woman and am waiting for CABG after suddenly getting angina symptoms in September.

Hi Guys. I am just wondering if any of you had a simiar problem. I was taking blood pressure tablets before my operation. I had a cabg4 operation back in September 2024. I was put on blood thinning tablets, blood pressure tablets and thought my blood pressure would go down as a result but it did not

Do you other post CABG people take Ramipril??? I have asked for cardiologist review but this could take a while. thanks

I’ve booked a holiday in the Med this year and I’m looking for travel insurance advice post CABG x 3 18 months ago. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly received. kind regards
