Morning, I've been browsing on here for a month or so since being put on the waiting list for a quintuple heart bypass. (mid Nov).Ive obviously heard of triple heart bypass but not quintuple, does anyone have any experience of this?
I originally had a heart attack and stents back in 2019, but have become increasingly breathless and legs feeling like lead on any exertion like walking up hills or stairs. If I carry on and ignore this then I become light headed and start seeing stars. I now only walk about 200m without having to stop for a minute, before carrying on.
I had all the tests last year and an Angiogram finally showed how bunged up my heart is.......
Any insights into what I can expect would be appreciated.

There are members on here that have had 5 Bypasses done if they see this post
I think no matter how many Bypasses you have done it is more or less the same as the operation is the same procedure it might just take a little longer depending how many Bypasses they are doing
I am a very anxious person and had a triple Bypass I thought it would be really bad but for me it actually was not bad at all
Once they put you to sleep you know nothing and when you wake up they have everything under control including controlling your pain you will be in ICU a few days and then back on a ward where they will get you moving about as soon as they can
There will be breathing exercises to do which are wise to follow and recovery starts which for everyone is different at what pace they can go at and how quick it takes but everyone gets there in their own time
You should feel so much better after the operation once you start recovering and as you go through each stage anything in more detail you want to know just come on and ask
I hope you get your operation soon and let us know how you get on x
Thank you for your reply, i am hoping I get it over and done with soon. At the moment I'm not sure how much I should be pushing myself before resting, don't want to drop dead whilst out walking the dog😂
