Bleeding gums
I suggest you arrange an appointment with your GP to discuss your problem. It might be medication related and it might not. That's for the GP to decide, which is why they are there. Hope you get sorted
Hello
My gums would bleed when I was on the strong blood thinners but have settled since I have come of them unless I brush to hard as I can do sometimes
It could be to do with your meds but as said see your Doctor and not sure when you last saw your dentist but if it has been a while then I would book an appointment with them to
Let us now how you get on x
I had stent fitted last week and my my gums and cheek feel quite sore but no bleeding
my teeth are disgusting at the moment (due in part to waiting for cleaning and treatment until after I have my op) but no bleeding 🤞
I’m afraid you’ll have to try the GP for this one to be on the safe side. Let us know how you go.
After a quad bypass in May 2022 I am on 4 medicines-the first four you mention. What is the purpose of the last 2?
I am curious as to why we had the same operation but you are taking two more medicines than me, although I appreciate we are all different
I took Clopodigrel as well for the first year but it was then removed. Obviously we should take medicines we need, but I am concerned that we take so many as there are often undesirable interactions or side effects the more we take
I was on allopurinol for gout related before op for couple of years and also amlodipine before op for hypertension fir couple of years before op so they have kept me on them
Hi Charl, I had a similar problem. My dentist recommended a waterpik water flosser, it has worked wonders 😀. Get it on Amazon between £22 to £50. You don't need a fancy expensive one. Steve
I have had bleeding gums and most of the time they would be ok after about 1 hr. There was not much blood, but the taste could be annoying.
Two or three times they started late evening and lasted through the night, the pillows told the tale and it was a messy one!
I have been on medication for a year and have not had any bleeding for about the last 6 months. It took quite a while for my INR to get stable and I have regular blood tests for it.
I am on Warfarin, bisoprolol, entresto, Atorvastatin, lansoprazole, dapagliflozin, Furosemide and spironolactone.
I suffered swollen ankles and badly swollen and bleeding gums while on the blood pressure tablet Amlodipine. I went to the GP and changed to Candasarten. The swelling went down and the bleeding stopped so. Just as well as my gums were in a state. So I’d recommend making an appointment to see what your GP says.
No issues with the gums at all and I'm someone who had a lot of issues with bruising initially. Definitely check in with a GP.
