Doctor and/or Dialysis tech Burnout?
Hi fellow kidney community. Has anyone ever experienced doctor or dialysis tech or actually any nephrology team burnout in their patient care? If so, would you mind sharing your story? Feeling sad after transplant - (I'm new here)
Hi, this is my first post so I hope this is the right place to ask something like this. I had a transplant almost 5 months ago and thought I would be super happy by now, especially after a year on dialysis. Instead I've been feeling quite sad and kind of like I'm in a rut. I'm a young college student

Hi guys, been to see specialist, she showed me the test results from the hospital sleep apnea test, I did a few months ago! It wasn't good! (Why did they not call me in?) My apnea is B...A...D! Wow! My breathing stopped hundreds of times an hour! I have a very dangerous apnea condition! If I don't

Good news
It has been one year since I first saw my renal dietician and met with the nephrologist. She said back then to prepare for dialysis within six months. I had been progressively declining monthly. Went from stage 3 to 4 within a short time. I am so thrilled to report my labs today from the last three

Is vasculitis life threatening?
My husband suffers with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis and this has got worse over the last 3 years such that he has had 2 spinal operations and now uses a manual wheelchair outside of the home. We went abroad just before Xmas and whilst I was sunbathing he was in thermals so I took him to the Dr when

A preemptive kidney transplant?
Hey everyone I have IGAN. Approximately 3 months ago I started the process of getting on the kidney transplant list. At the time I was referred for transplant by my nephrologist because my GFR was 16 and we both thought dialysis was looming. I started the process and went through all the testing required

My Father is ready to give up on dialysis
I need help my father was put on dialysis after a cardiac arrest in 2017. He knew he was heading towards dialysis because of his Gfr before the heart attack. He is very frustrated with his level of care at the center and that makes wanting to go to treatment 3x a week very hard. He has always been one

Post Ablation and Change of Medication
I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar position to myself and could offer some advice. I was disappointment after an episode clear 11 months using my CPAP ( sleep machine ) to have an AF episode which went into Atrial Flutter and had to have a DC Cardiversion ( my PIP Flecainide didn't work

3 specialists! Should I be worried?
Hi guys, haven't blogged for a while, I have finally got an appointment with respiratory on June 14, Friday, probably so they can recover over the weekend! Lol. But, seriously, should I be worried? I am usually seen by 1 NOT 3,no mention was made about bringing anything, like my CPAP to adjust or anything

Gfr 10....choosing conservative management
After considering age and other medical problems, my husband has decided on conservative management instead of dialysis. Is it possible to hold at 10 or even rebound a little for a while? Also, the nephrologist suggested Renadyl. Anyone have experience with that? Thanks for any response.
