Hello out there my name is Quita 55and I have a question in 12 days I will be having surgery for artriovenous fistula. I hear one of the side effects of dialysis is itching. If that happens is there something I can do? Open for ideas. Thanks

Blood Test Essential with Omeprazole
Hi I had an endoscopy/colonoscopy last June, the results of which indicated I had mild gastritis. My own GP put me on omeprazole morning and evening it was never monitored until I had bad swelling in one leg and ankle in January 2020. Consequently diagnosed with heart failure, sent to a clinic to have

High ALKP (Alkaline Phosphatase) - is it a result of Renal Failure?
Is high Alkaline Phosphatase )ALKP) cause by renal failure, or possibly if one has a high ALKP - this may be the reason for the renal failure? What is the danger of high ALKP and how can it be prevented with severe renal failure (not on dialysis yet). Thanks!

Any advice? Starting PD at home in 2 weeks...
I am starting home PD on Nov 9th. Training on the twin bag method for now (APD) because the drain pain from my flushing has been bad. I hope to use the home choice pro cycler from baxter at some point, maybe once my body gets used to the drain pain, but there’s a chance I will stay on APD and may never

Dry Mouth Remedies?
I am on oxygen 24/7, sleep with a CPAP machine and take prednisone for advanced PF and 'usual' medications for a heart condition. I'm becoming increasingly bothered by a dry mouth, especially on waking even though I am not a mouth breather. Are there any effective remedies out there? Must be sugar

Well that was a weird week and a long post, sorry
So 5 years ago before any heart trouble i was a judo coach and badly dislocated my left shoulder requiring surgery. I had a procedure called acromioclavicular joint stabilisation with lockdown. Refusing dialysis
Anyone has chronic kidney disease and experiencing stomach pains? Refusing dialysis, because don't want the burden of leaving house 3 days a week to go to a center.

New patient!
Is there a list of questions I should ask my nephrologist when I go for my first visit? I have my bloodwork information for the past 2 years and a list of medications I'm taking to take with me. Nervous as my mother and sister were on dialysis and passed away after just a few years of treatment. Both

Hi. My first post here. I have had really bad insomnia for the past year, in conjunction with a depressive episode. I have no problem falling asleep. My problem is staying asleep. I use a cpap machine for sleep apnea and I have been on trazadone for a long time to try to resolve this. But it persists

Out of the hospital
Out of the hospital having gone in this last Sunday for heart pain. Blood tests galore and an angiogram this morning. Off the Eliquis Monday and Tuesday so I stayed in the hospital. Tests all negative. Released around noon today. A couple times I forgot to take a dose of the Eliquis at home and felt
