I am not on Dialysis, but I used to work as a nurse on a Dialysis unit. The most common reason for low BP after dialysis was because too much fluid was removed. You need to discuss with your tech or MD tips to keep this from occurring. They may add something or take something away. Also, we used to hold BP meds until after Dialysis. You might want to discuss that with your doctor if that describes you.
This happens with my husband 2 out of 3 dialysis treatments a week. They tend to take off 8.5-10.5 lbs each session. He's near passing out by the end of the day because of extremely low BP. He is limited to 32 ounces of liquid per day, so he is constantly dehydrated. He tries to limit his fluids, but we're going through our second heatwave of the summer. His dialysis doctor and nurse practitioner have not suggested what we should do when his BP drops so low, so we end up in the ER more times than not. Does anyone have suggestions on what to do when his BP drops after dialysis to bring it back up while staying within his 32 ounces?
