High platelets update….opinions please…..
Just a recap on my situation… 52 year old female under the care of a Haematologist for the last 2 years for platelets over 450. My latest platelet count is 486, the lowest it’s been since referral, prior to that 550-600. Negative for the three main genes. Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy all clear. Do have

Hello, I am really struggling with symptoms at the moment and I still have no answers so would love some input from others who know what this is like. I have always had heavy painful periods since day 1, along with bowel and stomach issues. I remember being at school and being sent home because I was

ongoing health issues
As many of you know, I had foot surgery 4 weeks ago. Unfortunately, the wound isn’t healing well, so I’m now 6 weeks off my MTX and benepali. On Sunday at 1am I went to the loo before settling for the night. I had a large rectal bleed, with maroon stools and a gush of blood. Hubby was asleep, so I checked

Had results but still confused 🤷🏻♀️
After having biopsy samples taken during an incomplete colonoscopy back on 20th Jan and then having the CT pneumocolon on 8th Feb I have finally had the results read out to me by the med sec….not sure if it’s left me with more questions rather than answers 🤷🏻♀️ The biopsy results show inflammation

SeHCAT scan - eeek!
Got my letter through to book the SeHCAT scan. I'm just freaked out by having to go to the same clinic that caused me so much distress during colonoscopies/endoscopies. I know this won't hurt and logically I don't need to worry but I can't help it.🙄

Feeling poorly after eating
Hi everyone. I'm really struggling recently. My last flare up was absolutely awful to the point I thought I was dying (I know that seems dramatic)Everytime I ate 30 minutes later I would feel so poorly. It was like I had inflammation everywhere and had the worst pain in my calves, wrists, feet. Also

Please help, rectal cancer recovery
Hi everyone, this is my first post.I am 65. I was treated for rectal cancer last year. I had Papillon treatment followed by 5x5 chemoradiotherapy. I seemed to be recovering quite well until December when I had a sigmoidoscopy and polyps were removed. I have trouble finding anything I can eat that

BRIDGING MY BLOOD THINNER FOR COLONOSCOPY
It's time for my colonoscopy but I have reservations because I have been instructed to discontinue my regular blood thinner 5 days before the procedure; and bridge with lovanox. Then I'm supposed to stop the lovanox 2 days prior to the procedure. I have had a colonoscopy before but not since being diagnosed

I have my colonoscopy this Thursday
hi all I have been request by my gp to go for a colonoscopy after my fit test came back with a score of 129… at the time I didn’t really ask what the score meant because my mind was racing after being told that individual stool sample was positive. My symptoms started at the start of January, going

Bowel endo and prolapse
Hello I wondered if anyone knows who I go to about this. I have stage 4 endometriosis. It’s impacted my bowel. I have a 5cm mass in my bowel. My last colonoscopy said I have a partial bowel mucosa prolapse. I don’t have any symptoms of prolapse yet. I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant through IVF. I

Sigmoidoscopy
Hi Had a sigmoidoscopy on Saturday, which I had under sedation, I found it a bit uncomfortable. Diverticulosis found, which I already knew about from a colonoscopy a few years ago. Biopsies taken. Yesterday bowel felt fine, however today I am in quite a bit of lower bowel pain. Just wondering why I

Hypothyroid
Hi, I believe I may have had thyroid problems since my 30’s when I ballooned from a petite size 8 to size 16 over a few years. I am 69, in 2016 I was diagnosed with AF think I had heart issues 10 years before that. I was put on Apixiban and beta blockers while I was also taking seratonin reuptake inhibitors

Trouble relaxing and sleeping
I have stomach issues, headaches, and chest pains, at various times of the day, mainly at bedtime and morning. I have been to the doctor and ruled out heart problems. I have also had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, and a Brain MRI. All were ok. So, I assume it is my anxiety. They did find three small hernias
