Mesalazine…or not?
Hello, new on here. Lifelong IBS but colonoscopy in 2020 showed mild IBD. Haven’t needed any medication yet. My specialist has suggested I start taking Mesalazine but I’m worried. My ferritin is high and my white blood cells are low and my calprotectin is now normal. She said it might help lower the

Alcoholic liver disease is a strong predictor of colorectal polyps in liver transplant recipients
In January this year, following a routine blood test by my GP. It highlighted low ferritin levels. After having completed a Fit-Test (faecal haemoglobin test), blood was found in the sample. I later went and had a CT Colonography. This highlighted four polyps in my colon. After a lot of messing around

endoscopy and a cough
hi, I am having an endoscopy and colonoscopy tomorrow. I had been on omeprezole for 1 ½ weeks when the doctor advised to come off the omprezole as I had my appointment 9 days after. Since stopping it the last 3 days I’ve had this hacking cough. Could this be acid rebound? I’m going to ring the doctor

Stressed with Sudden diarrhea and rectal bleeding
Hello and thank you for letting me join. Today I had a colonoscopy, that indicated to my surprise rectal ulcers. The rest of the colonoscopy looked good other than hemorrhoids. What I would like to know from those who have rectal bleeding and colitis as my doctor is leaning towards ulcerative colitis

Beta blocker
My heart would not stop racing after doing the vagal manoeuvre as it usually does. Talked to my doctor by phone who prescribed beta blocker pills for anxiety. My usual resting heartrate is around 50-55 and it was racing at 150+ for 2 hours. My blood pressure was around 169 -154/93/109. Finally went

IBS - awaiting diagnosis
In my 50s and have probably had IBS type symptoms for years but not at a significant level, so never seen a GP. Having had a couple of more severe bouts recently, lasting a few weeks each, including some smears of blood on stools on two occasions earlier in the summer , I went to the GP. Been through

a bit more concerned now......
Had an appointment at the unit that has looked after me for the last five years. The biological meds have stopped as they simply didn't make enough of a difference to my eosinophilic asthma. The concern now is that vasculitis is here. I explained that during the summer my neck got stiff and cracked

Colonscopy update, large polyp found
Evening, Thought I’d update you all. So I had my colonoscopy and they found a 30mm polyp in the sigmoid area 20cm from anal verge. I was told I needed to have it removed by someone else due to the size and would be on the 2 week wait list again - well they’ve called and told me they can’t fit me in

Any tips for relief?
Hi all strap yourselves in for an essay 😅 - apologies in advance. So about a year ago I posted on here and everyone was very helpful. I’d been suffering from nausea, upset bowels and weight loss about many months. After a positive FIT test I was referred for an urgent endoscopy and colonoscopy. Nothing

CT v Colonoscopy’s
After seeing a consultant for low abdominal pain (negative qFIT) I was given a CT scan, which was also thankfully fine. I was told that this would have shown anything which would merit an invasive Colonoscopy & that, as nothing showed up, then it’s not really recommended to do one as it comes with it
