Good afternoon, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis at the start of May 2024 via colonoscopy. Start of June , I had a bad flare up where I had lots of blood and diarrhea ( up to 12 times day) worse cramps ever. Finding mesalasine tablets in poo. Got admitted 3 days in hospital for dehydration and

For those people who worry about stopping their anticoagulant for medical procedures in case they have a stroke maybe my experience might reassure them. All drugs have a half life so the amount of time you have to stop before a procedure is calculated taking this into account. For the "bans" it is

Hi, wondering has anyone had any CLL cells , particularly neutrophils, cause an ulcer in their colon!! I’m waiting for results, I’m just wondering if my CLL has infiltrated my colon, or could this be something else. I have been on watch and wait for three years, with no treatment yet!!!!! Thank you

Colonoscopy
Just have a question. I was put on a 5 Day taper of 16mg of prednisolone. I took my first dose today along with a one time dose of diflucan. Will I be ok to have my colonoscopy tomorrow?

Colonoscopy
I am worried about anesthesia causing exacerbation. The last time I was put under I was out of it for 2 months (according to my husband). I had ill effects 40 years ago with anesthesia also. They have "noted" this but it does not make me feel any less anxious.

After searching through the web I came across this website. I finally went to go see a GI doctor. He asked what were my symptoms? But before I say, he told me he needed blood work done, colonoscopy, an ultrasound. My symptoms are bloating, excess amounts of gas, constipation, diarrhea. I do have a hard

Hey all, I am waiting on a colonoscopy I have scheduled for June 27th due to some symptoms and have a question for you all. Trigger for PMR
Is the forum aware that a tumour or similar was the trigger for PMR in someone? My rheumatologist sent me for tumour screening, a lung X-ray and a colonoscopy. Or is the cause mostly unknown?

Any similar experiences please
Hi, everyone, I haven’t posted for quite some time now, I thought I was maybe getting a year off from being prodded, poked, wired up etc. However, following the recent request to provide a sample for the bowl screening service, I now need colonoscopy for further investigations. Questions for you, please

Diverticulitis
Just been diagnosed with diverticulitis after colonoscopy, luckily no cancer found. Unfortunately I’m having to wear pads as I am experiencing “leaking” after a bowel movement. Any help with diet or tips, I would appreciate, as I am reluctant to take Loperamide on a regular basis.

Managing Pudendal Neuralgia pain
Hi all, I joined this forum to remain on top of developments around the complex pelvic floor issues affecting women and to seek support from others. In my experience these are generally poorly understood by doctors in the UK especially at consultant level and there is an absence of multi agency support

Terminal ileitis
My colonoscopy found mild inflammation in the TI area which they said looked like Terminal Ileitis. Biopsies were taken but they came back normal. I haven't discussed the results with my consultant yet as I had to give in a stool sample to check the calprotectin level first. It looks like it isn't Crohn's

Hi. For the last few months I've had worsening abdominal cramp, and now backache. I've been to my GP several times and after various tests the GP has diagnosed IBS and prescribed mebeverine.
