Confused about potential ibs c with overflow diagnosis
So after having a constant list of other symptoms unrelated to bowels i have finally spoke to a gastro who is assuming i have ibs c with overflow. I am on the waiting list for a colonoscopy so this potential diagnosis has been made on a 5 min phone call not an in person appointment. My confusion comes

warning re gastroscopy and gastrografin for ME/CFS sufferers . Plus neuropathy ?
I saw a very nice colorectal surgeon who arranged a CT colonography - as I thought this would be physically less demanding than a full colonoscopy. Two days after the scan I spent the whole day throwing up violently. You can get a ‘rare’ delayed reaction to Gastrografin, the iodine contrast medium.

Scared of the Future.....
My husband (42M) has been having the feeling of needing to use the bathroom 7-10 times a day, and it always comes out as gas or diarrhea, loose watery stools. I had him to our primary doctor and get some tests run. All of his bloodwork has come back ok, his platelets are a little high, but his iFOBT

labs results that contraindicate one another
Hi all, I’ve been having pretty constant parasthesias on both sides of my body usually worse from shoulders down to fingers, initial B12 level was 190 (was 845 four years ago). New doctor had me test for IF antibodies immediately after giving me a B12 injection which was negative and she stated

?Bowel Endometriosis
Hi, first time posting. I am mid 20s and I had an internal ultrasound over a year ago due to having an off off episode of bleeding after sex. During this time I also had been having GP appointments for bowel issues like intense urgency, loose stools and abdo pain. I have been on the combined pill since

Early last year I read an article in the Mail newspaper about having 300mg dispersible aspirin in the medicine cupboard in case of heart attacks. I bought some although I had no evidence of anything wrong with my heart. In June I had a heart attack and the emergency services told me to take one of these

colonoscopy with sedation
I am due to have a colonoscopy.... but three attempts previously were failures. This time I am to be sedated with Propofol. Which I am told is quite strong. Obviously, the consultant and his anaesthetist are are aware of my lung problems. But I am aware of just how painful the last three attempts

advice
Hi, I’m just looking for some advice. Recently my bowel habits have changed drastically .. I am often feeling the urge to go to the toilet even if I can’t do anything or do very little & if I’ve just been to the toilet. I’m going from being constipated to the opposite and I just over all feel very uncomfortable

New member
New member here. Looking to commiserate with other IBS sufferers about how they are dealing with symptoms. I’ve been told that a lot of this (bloating, constipation) is brought on by stress. But then you start “doomscrolling” to better understand your symptoms and you see all kinds of stories of people

fit test positive
I need some advice, I had a baby 6 months ago and my bowel habit has changed. I think it’s down to diet as we’ve not being great with healthy eating grabbing food etc especially when little one was tiny. I mentioned this to the nurse and she sent me for a fit test. I did two samples 1 came back as

treatment for rectal bleeding/hemorrhoids?
It’s now May 2024 and I’ve had a total of two colonoscopies and one sigmoidoscopy since 2020 and they have found the following: hypertrophic anal papillae(basically a benign fibrous polyp that many gi doctors regard as a skin tag), internal hemorrhoids and one external friable hemorrhoid, small divericula

Scared and lost
Hello, I am not too sure where to start, so much has happened. I am a 50 year-old female. A couple of years ago, I had a pain in my abdomen on the right side and my stools became orange. The GP sent me for an ultrasound where they saw I had polyps on my gallbladder. The GP phoned me on the 31st Dec to

Mild TI inflammation
Hi, I've just had my third colonoscopy and I found it very painful. I was in agony during various times of it being done. I managed to get a report (some pictures this time too!) On the report they wrote for the procedure discomfort: Mild: More than 2 episodes of discomfort without distress. On my report
