Just have a question. I was put on a 5 Day taper of 16mg of prednisolone. I took my first dose today along with a one time dose of diflucan. Will I be ok to have my colonoscopy tomorrow?

I would have thought the people organising the colonoscopy will ask what drugs you are taking. You could always check if worried.

This just happened yesterday due to the fact I am having difficulty breathing and my inhalers weren't helping.

There is probably no problem, but I would check everything is OK if you are worried. They should check in your medical background anyway.

It is difficult to give you helpful answers without more information about the background to your illness. How long you have had PMR or GCA, why you are being tapered down and what method, how you were diagnosed. What is the colonoscopy for? The more information the better.

I have been trouble breathing since I almost died from Covid pneumonia in 2020. I'm what they call a long hauler. The doc seems to think it's just the humidity that's giving me the problem. The colonoscopy is due it's been 10 years since last one. The Medrol taper is low dose for 5 days.

Sorry, I just meant the bio part of your registration.

Sorry to hear that Covid hit you so hard. Make sure that the medic performing your colonoscopy is clear about you medical history and medication in advance of the procedure. I might be inclined to postpone as you are feeling ill.

I have had several colonoscopies and each time it is about 6 months before my colon settles down again and I am able to feel I dont need to spend my life near a toilet.

I am glad that I didn’t read these posts before I relatively recently had 2 colonoscopies, 1 endoscopy, and the swallowing a camera endoscopy. I was and am completely fine.
