After searching through the web I came across this website. I finally went to go see a GI doctor. He asked what were my symptoms? But before I say, he told me he needed blood work done, colonoscopy, an ultrasound. My symptoms are bloating, excess amounts of gas, constipation, diarrhea. I do have a hard time losing weight no matter what diet plan I do or if I go to the gym. I'm gaining so much weight, I can't same to lose weight. My poop does have mucus below it. My poop is thinning as well. I'm scared what the doctor is gonna say. My stomach doesn't make noise when I'm hungry anymore.

hello
Hi 32321,
Thanks for posting with us. I’m glad you went to see your GI doctor. You’ve got some symptoms, you’re after answers and bloodwork, colonoscopy and ultrasound will go a long way in getting that for you. I’m proud of you for getting things checked out. I wouldn’t be scared of the findings. Getting a definitive answer will put you on a path to being well and not having to speculate. I look at these tests as being a friendly part of you healthcare. As a part of my surveillance for colon cancer, I get annual bloodwork, a CT scan and a colonoscopy. This is for my hereditary situation.
Given that, it would be good info for you doctor to know if there are any hereditary health situations running in your family. It could lead to some other beneficial tests if there is such a situation going on.
We do wish you the best in getting those answers. Please let us know what you find out. Getting symptoms checked out and seeing the results is an important part of this group. Also, any advice about your experience is welcomed as well.
Thank you,
~Tom, GCCA Survivor - Colon Cancer Connected Site Administrator.
