plural effusion
I nave plural effusion in my left lung metastasis from ovarian cancer. I had a surgery last September 23 with WATS. Now I’m on strong chemo but this plural effusion is the same. I had five line of carboplatin, Bevacizumab, zentabun. Noting helps. I will try 3-4 more and if it’s not change I will stop

results of nail biopsy
At the end of last week I got my results of my nail biopsies. It is no fungus, no infection and best of all no cancer. They do not know what it actually is despite using numerous tests. A very happy outcome, as all medics seen in the process suspected subungual melanoma. I can live with not knowing

Immunotherapy
I'm just starting out on immunotherapy and would like to share experiences with others on the same drug. - Pembrolizumab. I'm due my 2nd treatment tomorrow. For someone who avoids taking anything stronger than paracetamol, it's all a bit scary. I haven't met anyone with lung cancer yet, and other

MRI prior to HDR Brachy and HDR intensity.
Hi Friends, Hey, I'm doing well to date in coping with HT and have just had 10 of my 23 VMAT radiation sessions. So far so good. BUT recently I was told that the radiation sessions are nothing compared to the "Brutal" HDR Brachy Boost I am having in mid-August. That wasn't what I wanted to hear, so

Help deciding on treatment
Discovered this forum a month ago and have found it to be a wealth of information, with very educated/informed members. Hoping that you can spread some of your wisdom and help my finalize my decision with treatment. I've posted more details in my profile as well as write ups from MSKCC on my Biopsy

My mom just got diagnosed with CLL at 59 - we have questions - thank you for all the support on my previous post!
1. We live in Southern California - does anyone know a great specialist near by? 2. Her ABSOLUTE LYMPHOCYTES are 9533 - does anyone have similar numbers but they have increased 24% from a month ago when they were at 7732?? Is this alarming? 3. Her IGHV test came back at 6.87% - what does that mean?

The death of Shannon Doherty has made me think about my own journey. It is not like I was a huge fan, but she was diagnosed with MBC the same time as I was- Feb 2020. so I have followed her and her open dialogue about her cancer. Her death of course has made me go to the darkest of places.I have been

post-op incisions
Hi everyone, I had surgery (ovarian cystectomy & excision of endometriosis) on 18/02/24 One of my wounds seems to be open. I feel ‘fobbed off’ by doctors who state it will close on its own. Did anyone else’s incisions look like this? Did they heal okay? Also, my belly button scab has now fallen

At what point for scan ?
Hi. Currently just had # 4 chemo. Live in Canada so PSMA has never been done . Bone scan and CT scan. I'm wondering at what point it would be good to get a scan ( they already said it would probably be a CT scan as that's all we have in my province and eventually another bone scan which He has to fly

Metathesized Breast Cancer after 28 years
I had breast cancer in 1996. I was treated with a double mastectomy, hormonal therapy, and chemotherapy. I had no radiation. Now, in 2024, I have a metathesized breast cancer primarily in the bones with foci in my lungs, and thickening in my pleura. I feel fine, although my blood markers have been

Seen tthe Oncologist My lump has grown it's now 22mm so the tamoxifen wasn't doing its work. So we are going to try another drug called anastrozole, for two months then back to the Oncologist to see if it worked if it hasn't then look at other options. The tamoxifen has been stopped.

Hi, I have been living with stage iv breast cancer since January of 2020. My college friend was diagnosed with an early stage breast cancer also in 2020. She recently wrote a “kids style book for adults” about her diagnosis and asked me if I wanted to share my journey to help others with stage iv
