I had surgery (ovarian cystectomy & excision of endometriosis) on 18/02/24
One of my wounds seems to be open. I feel ‘fobbed off’ by doctors who state it will close on its own. Did anyone else’s incisions look like this? Did they heal okay?
Also, my belly button scab has now fallen off. There is some yellow liquid leaking from it and it is pink /red. Is this normal?
Thank you
(Sorry about my belly hair)

It definitely shouldn’t gape like that. But unfortunately once it has become like this they won’t suture at this stage as there’s a risk of causing infection and they’ll usually allow it to heal from the inside out. I’m sorry it’s done this. I’ve recently had another (emergency this time) laparoscopic surgery for ruptured ectopic and my incisions from this surgery are so ugly and awful that it makes me upset so I get how you feel.
I’ve had some butterfly paper stitches over it but what you said is exactly the same thing they said. It’s a shame they don’t take us seriously. How have your incisions healed this time around?
