PATCH ON LUNG - 2
To Savanna01 and for all the kind people that have replied to my initial post. The CT scan my wife had was not conclusive and on 28th June had a Bronchoscopy and was to wait until the results were through and an appointment was made for 11th July. However, she got a telephone call yesterday morning

Comparing other countries treatment.
Hi everyone, my mum has been recently diagnosed with Stage 4 NON SMALL CELL LUNG CANCER ADENOCARSINOMA confined to both lungs with one enlarged lymph node on the chest. She’s 61 and was never a smoker. Just wondering anyone with the similar diagnosis out here is able to help us. We would like to know

Farewell to our dear friend Anita
I’ve been sitting here staring at the blinking cursor and I’ve no idea for how long. Words don’t usually fail me but this weeks loss is devastating. You knew her here as Anita Figueras or SciFiKnitter. She was a blogger on this board when it was managed by Free to Breathe. If you have EGFR+ adenocarcinoma

Relapse 😔
I didn’t want to write this but yes, I relapsed.. it was a combination of drink and sorrow that led me to light up. My dog, my friend for over 15 years, died. I had him euthanized and that made it even harder. I have quit again - yesterday was completely smoke-free. I guess I smoked off and on for almost

LDH markers
My husband was on immunotherapy for lung cancer which had spread to lymph nodes and pleura. The immunotherapy was stopped as a CT scan showed spread to the liver. He has now been put on Carboplatin and Pemetrexed. After his last (2nd) dose of that his bloods showed an increase in LDH. Stupidly I Googled

KRAS mutation
What does the KRAS mean to a lung cancer patient? Is this really a bad mutation? Do you die sooner?

Recurrence generic testing
I was wondering why after right middle lung lobectomy for early stage adenocarcinoma they did not do genetic testing? Seems it would be better to know what paths to take if it recurs. Wouldn’t it be better to know before and not have to wait for these results then? Should I feel short changed?

Maintenance treatment
Hi, My dad was just told that his lung cancer is shrinking again and no more metastasis in the brain too. 🙏🏼 So happy. This was his second PET and MRI with the same results during more than 6 month period. His meds are now Keytruda, Zometa, Alimta and Altuzan. I am wondering for how long he should

Back pains
I had a lower left lung lobectomy 11 weeks ago with no real complication. I have now started chemo and had my first cycle 2 weeks ago. All was ok with that apart from feeling tired and fatigued. I am having pains now in my sides where as when I bend down they really hurt mainly around the base of the

Happy Days Are Here Again
For those of you diagnosed with stage 4, don’t give up! Hope is a wonderful aid to healing. I had my usual three month scan and “there is no evidence of disease”. When I was diagnosed in 2013, it was assumed that I only had months to live. I am celebrating my news not only for me but those who are

Ventolin Inhaler -Alternative
Good evening everyone, I have taken my Ventolin Inhaler for many years of me having COPD and Bronchiectasis, I am now stage 4 COPD and awaiting a lung transplant. Although I have to regularly take lots of medication daily as well as nebulisers I have noticed that my Ventolin Inhaler doesn’t seem to work
