Non smokers lung cancer
Hello My sister was died of non smokers lung cancer (adenocarcinoma) last year and because I mentioned to one doctor (not my own) that as children we were exposed to some asbestos dust and some coke/coal dust, he suggested that I have a lung x-ray every year. I had one xray last year and it was clear

Organ donations vetoed by hundreds of bereaved families
Hi Cold And snow here, Was reading the news this morning and this caught my eye. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-35304105 On the face of it this seems innocuous enough , They want to limit the power of next of kin to refuse organ donation even if the person who died had consented at some point in

Transplant Machester
Good afternoon everyone. I would like to ask if any one has been to Manchester to meet the transplant team, or has had lung transplant there. I know it's a long process. I think I'm scared to look into it on line, as there is so much different information. Many thanks Stuart

Sarcoidosis messed with the wrong woman
After going through weeks of testing,I discovered this week that I am not suitable for a lung transplant. Because I have the sarcoidosis in my liver too,the transplant team at Newcastle decided after looking closely at my case, that my liver wouldn't cope with the transplant and they're 100% certain I

Sir Alex Feguson's cough campaign, did you respond?
Hello all For the last two years Sir Alex Ferguson has featured on a campaign to raise awareness about lung cancer. We have been asked to see if we can find anyone who has been diagnosed with lung cancer, who took action partly because of the campaign. if you want to get in touch email us on info@roycastle.org

Coughing and IPF
G'day All We have finally had success with Susan's severe wet coughing fits. The Lung transplant Dr has recommended Panadene Forte as a means of reducing the attacks. Susan has been taking 1 tablet 3 times daily and has had very little coughing since. I do not know if it will assist everyone but

Stage 4
Hi, I'm 41 and was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer two weeks ago. I had a lung biopsy yesterday and start chemo next week. I made the mistake of looking at life expectancies on the Internet and made myself insane. Does anyone know of anyone who has lived with stage 4 for a semi long time. My mum says

Roflumilast
Has anyone any experience of using Roflumilast? I know that it is not "licensed" as a prescription drug in Britain unless you are taking part in a clinical trial, but is used in Europe and America. The 'obstructive' element of my COPD seems to be getting worse and I wondered if it was worth getting
