Have you, or has someone you know, had a lung transplant?
Hello, I’ve been contacted by the NHS Blood and Transplant service with a request for help. They are exploring ways of helping people to make decisions about the risks associated with organ transplants. They would like to get the views of as many people as possible. This includes people who may need

Low IgA and IGG blood results, what does it mean?
Hi I was wondering if anyone knows what the low IgA and IGG mean. I am on long term antibiotics because of the frequency of infections and I am still getting them, one infection landed me in hospital for 5 days last month. I am due to see consultant again in November and will be seeing the immunologist

Transplant
Hi all, I have not been on the site for quite a while as I went for a lung transplant in January. I am now recovering and would seriously recomend it to anyone who has the chance. No they are not always successful but lung disease does not improve! Sue Exxxx

Transplant
I would like to talk to someone who has had a lung transplant. I am being considered for the waiting list but I am still unsure whether this is the best thing for me. I am 63 so it would be helpful to talk to someone in my age group.

Reassurance needed, please share your experiences of the NHS
My fit 60 yr old husband was diagnosed with lung cancer last July when he attended a rheumatology appointment due to chronic pain in his wrists, feet and ankles and they did a routine chest x-ray. He then had CT, PET scans and a mediastinoscopy, followed by surgery (not VATS) for an adenocarcinoma, plus

Help my dad has been diagnosed with lung cancer
3 weeks ago my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and on Friday we went to hospital for an oncologist appointment . They have told us that it is inoperable and that chemo is not an option either as he is too old and not fit enough ( he is 79) the only treatment they can offer is palliative radiotherapy

Complaints and comments re late diagnosis and misdiagnosis
I have had a meeting today with the Consultants who misdiagnosed my lung cancer in the early stages. I believe that the Consultants who I met with found the meeting beneficial to help them improve their practice and hopefully prevent the errors that were made with me happening to others. Lung cancer

GvHD of the lungs
Hi all I am new to this site. I am not posting about myself but about my 32 year old brother. 9 years ago he had a stem cell transplant to treat leukaemia (I was his donor), which has been in remission ever since. We have been lucky enough to have 9 good years during which time he has worked full time

Went for a risky walk in the woods and got my reward.
After taking a few pics of the bird life that turned up outside my Dads kitchen window I went for a stroll up the lane for my daily exercise. I did the usual route but then I thought it was time to get off the beaten track and take the path up through the woods to an old yew tree I remembered from way

Being a patient is so much more than just taking meds
We all heard about the mammogram,
collapsed
lung
and chest xray. So my question is this. We are incredibly slow to adopt basic technologies such as skype or Social Media for fear or what might be sent out in to the public domain. How is technology any less secure than the system we currently have?

People need to think hard about carrer choices esp the young and about work place polution.
Work place polution is defo a afiction you dont want in later life esp when the one's that are apost to be looking out for us try to rip you off of your statursry rights or is it writes ... anyway Clowns in govermeant esp those in courts seem to think you can only get pneumoconiosis if you have worked
