They have already done an angiogram, bone density scan, broncostomy, blood gases, and x rays at Worcs Royal and fowarded this to the QE in Birmingham

Can anyone enlighten me as to wether on the new system I will lose my entitlement to DLA even though I need a full lung transplant, yet more stress off the government. if it is not hard enough for us all already.

Hi, I am a female in my forties who has just been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. I am currently playing the waiting game for a kidney function test and following that, chemo. Every day I seem to feel more discomfort in my chest, especially when I cough and feel tired with the breathlessness.

Lung Transplant
I signed on the dotted line to add my name to the waiting list for a double lung swap. This was on 30th Sept last year. No one knows how long you may have to wait or even if a suitable donor will ever be found. The tragedy is someone suitable has to die in order for me to get new lungs. Four weeks

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL
May 1213 bring continuing improvements in quicker cancer diagnosis, treatments and ever increasing longevity in patients. What is clear is that after many years of chemotherapy and radiation, we're in the midst of an explosion in novel lung cancer treatment options. This could be an amazing year.

The new anti-smoking campaign. No mention of COPD ?
The governments new anti-smoking campaign focuses on lung cancer but doesn't mention COPD. Apparently COPD kills more people each year than lung cancer and breast cancer combined. Knowing abut smoking and lung cancer did not make me stop, Perhaps knowing about COPD as well may have made me think.Seeing

Why Do Some Lifelong Non-smokers Get Lung Cancer?
A new American Cancer Society study analyzed data on lung cancer occurrence among lifelong non-smokers in North America, Europe, and Asia found that lung cancer death rates among never-smokers are highest among men. The review, the largest to date of lifelong non-smokers, also suggests that the death

Not the news I wanted to hear :((
Just returned from my oncology appointment, the one I have been waiting for to get the results of my latest CT scan. Not the best of news....I have some tumour progression. I knew It would happen eventually and did expect it as I've been coughing for the last 3 weeks but still it was a shock. I've been

Soup to clear your head?
I like messing about in the kitchen. I will start following a recipe, then I think I can improve this. Sometimes it does, sometimes it is less than successful. Today I tried a soup. I like spicy. For those who like something like mulligatawny, this might work. It started for as carrot and ginger, then
