Any guidance on having chemo as a ulcerative colitis sufferer?
Hi I have been offered adjuvant chemo following a lower left lobectomy to remove a 42 mm adenocarcinoma. The histology showed no spread to the adjacent lymph nodes. I have a T2b staging. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis about a decade ago and, through careful management and medical support

" Massive " Hiatal Hernia .
I wrote here a few week's ago because I am worried about my hernia especially after speaking to my Consultant who scared me to death! My hernia is 10 cms and the symptoms are getting worse. The Consultant said that they won't operate because it's too big and as I have had a Lobectomy due to lung cancer

Mini pill
hi everyone. I tried noriday mini pill for just under 3 mths but I bled a lot and was quite angry on it 🤦♀️ I stopped taking it a week before my holiday in august, as I was worried it would ruin it with all the bleeding. However I saw my gynea 2 weeks ago for my mri follow up. My endo is severe

How morphine affects sedatives when having hospital treatment
I have a colostomy and I had to have a colonoscopy this week I was given pethidine. I found the procedure very painful and was told it was because I take morphine for chronic pain. This worries me in case I need emergency treatment where I will need pain management. Has anyone else experienced this

diagnostic procedure and surgery waiting times
hi, I had a mediastenoscopy about 4 weeks ago where they biopsied lymph nodes. These came out clear which was a big relief. Other people have referred to EBUS or variations of this - but these were not discussed in my case so was not offered an alternative. I obviously would have preferred a less

NED means I should feel happy, right?
I'm new to this site, was diagnosed with Stage IV NSCLC adenocarcinoma (EGFR mutation) in June 2021. I had SBRT for 3 brain mets, which seems to have taken care of those bastards. I started on Tagrisso pretty soon afterward and am still on it. I had an upper left lung lobectomy and a wedge resection

APeR surgery and colostomy bag
hi I am due for surgery for rectal cancer in which I will need a permanent colostomy and possibly rectal excision. Understandably I am struggling to come to terms with diagnosis and surgery needed. If anyone has been through this and can let me know what to expect after surgery I would really appreciate

Dad not sleeping after Lobectomy
Hello all My dad had a Lobectomy on Aug 24th (right upper lobe ) he has pain more so at night ( has morphine and is dosing up etc ) has a V pillow to help . Is this common as the lack of sleep doesn’t help on top of having the surgery ? I believe from what I’ve read within the forums this can occur

VATS update for all you beautiful people
I had an upper right lobectomy on 22nd of May and wanted to thank everyone for your pre and post operative support and suggestions for making recovery easier. I’m feeling so much better now although my remaining bit of right lung seems to be making mucus. I spend a bit of time coughing and spluttering

Would appreciate advice on these results
I am new to the forum and the diagnosis so would appreciate any advice. In May this year I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's after my antibodies test came strongly positive. Then found out I have a thyroid nodule with two times indeterminate biopsy so recommended lobectomy. My latest labs (did them at

Fallopian tubes tethered to bowel (adhesion post laparoscopy for PID) Is surgery the only option?
Fallopian tubes tethered to bowel. Can they free up with time or is surgery the only option? My consultant says that surgery is risky due to possible damage to the bowel. Colostomy bag for life isn’t a great prospect, but neither is infection in my abdomen and Fallopian tubes. Anyone experienced this

Hi, I’m new to this group but am an undetermined IBD sufferer of 26 years. My last colonoscopy in May suggested a 60/40 chance that I have Crohn’s disease over Ulcerative Colitis. For the last 15 years I have managed my symptoms well with Pentasa. Prior to this I was on Azathoprine but had to stop

Let down...again !
When I wrote my last post I was so full of hope and felt happy again. I had forgotten what that was like! However, my original Dr. has overruled my new Dr. and once again I am getting no help or support and I am feeling so depressed. I have had 3 day's where the pain has been unbearable and yesterday

Do Nerve Blocker's work ?
Hi all . Like many of you here I have multiple health problems, one of which is 2 compressed vertebral fracture's which have become incredibly painful. I have Osteoporosis although I was, initially, told that it was cancer. Having had lung cancer and a Lobectomy I was worried at the thought of cancer
