Colon Cancer Warning
Against medical advice, he had the surgery to do a partial
colectomy
to repair the perforation and remove the largest area of cancer. After the surgery, the surgeon told us that this is the worst cancer he has ever seen when going into the abdominal cavity.

Laproscopy for endo and possible stoma
Hey ladies, so I've been in a lot of pain and discomfort for a year or so. Finally had ultrasounds then had an mri which has found endo on/in my bowel. I've got surgery on Monday and been told to be warned I could end up with a colostomy bag if they find more than 3cm worth of endo in my bowel. I was

Why CT scan not pet scan?
Good evening to all. I have a quick question please. As you may know, I finished 4 rounds of Cisplatin Alimta three weeks ago, following on from a lobectomy in March. Tomorrow I have a CT scan and am wondering why they do that at this stage rather than a pet scan. Can anyone explain please? Best

back pain post op
hope you all have a happy sunday! My mom has been having a bit of back pain after her lobectomy. Is it normal? Not bad back pain, but after she walks and stands up the whole day for a long time, her back starts hurting a bit. Has been about a month since surgery. Her bed is also really uncomfortable

Any advice? 6 years with tumor?
Hi everyone, as previously mentioned I went to my mothers post op appointment. Doctor seemed very happy with the healing and everything. At that moment I was so nervous I forgot to ask so many questions and right now I am overthinking. But I am not sure of the whole diagnosis. He said the tumor was not

Adjuvant Chemotherapy
Hi all. I can't seem to find any real details about adjuvant chemotherapy in the UK online. I had a LLL lobectomy on 18th June and I am currently awaiting an appointment to see the oncologist to discuss adjuvant chemotherapy. Given my cancer is squamous cell stage 2B and the tumor was over 5cm and

Trying to stay positive
It's been 8 days since my lobectomy. Spent 5 of those in the hospital and am now home. Pain has changed over the past couple of days, with what feels more like nerve pain and numbness under my right breast. I also have a large water blister from the dressing tape. All I want to do is sleep. And when

Nerve pain after vats Lobectomy
Hi folks- yes I have nerve pain and I’m back to the gp today to get meds to help with the pain. I tried to stop the dihydrocideine but I’m afraid I couldn’t cope with the pain. Lung nurse and consultant talked about taking Amitriptyline for this pain. I’m fit to fly in 3 weeks for a holiday but want

Nerve pain after vats Lobectomy
Hi folks- although I got the all clear for the lung cancer I’ve had a swelling under right breast since1st week(now 4 weeks since surgery). Dr thought at first it was infection or shingles- it’s neither. Looks like nerve pain. It’s holding back my recovery. Anyone any experience of this and any suggestions

Post lower right lobectomy I have LPR
Has anyone developed LPR after lung surgery? I have been taking PPI med and Gaviscon Advance for about 7 weeks but still have bouts of hoarse voice, breathlessness, noisy breathing, occasional cough. I'm waiting for an endoscopy but what can be done? My consultant tells me my lung has expanded quite

Potential bowel resection and colostomy bag
Anyone else had this with their endometriosis? I am only 21, this would be my third surgery. I am honestly losing hope.

Good news
Just got a call from lung nurse that I’m cancer free! No further treatment required after the Lobectomy. I’m still recovering but this makes end seem so much closer. This was another primary- 3rd one in 10 months. I’ve now conquered skin cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer!! Follow ups obviously but

After having a lobectomy in January 2018, my last scan at 18 months showed a nodule in my right lower and middle lobes. Also a swollen lymph node #10 if that make sense. My Doctor says do no panic. Hmmm easy to say. I guess I read too much and it does not appear the stats are good. Anyone have a similar

Surgical Follow Up Appointment Tomorrow
My post lobectomy follow up appointment with the Thoracic team is tomorrow. I'm not sure what the process is at my local hospital. Does anybody know the standard process? Do they send you for an updated x-ray or scan? The letter doesn't say anything other than the appointment details I know I will

Protein Powder Supplements Now a Concern
Just read in this a.m. newspaper in column by Dr. Oz & his colleague that protein powder supplements (except for totally plant-based) are dangerous. After the scary news that all sugar (even in fresh fruit) & carbohydrates causes proliferation of cancer cells, the egg-white protein powder I add to my
