Has anybody else had problems with removal of stitches following lobectomy
Hi everybody. Hope everybody is managing to find some time to relax and enjoy the good weather this weekend. A little sunshine is almost always cheering. I attended my GP surgery on Friday to have stitches removed. One of the wounds is left with paper/dissolving stitches which day 13 don't appear

Hysterctomy abandoned
Has anyone gone to have surgery for a hysterectomy and they found their bowel is adhered to their womb and they had to have a colostomy bag?

It’s sure to touch and

Recliner or reading pillow?
I have two weeks before my lobectomy, so needless to say I'm on pins and needles and trying to get ready for what's coming is all I can think of! As I talk to some who have had the same surgery or read here and in other forums, I am getting very different opinions on this. So my question is: which do

Does Sugar and/or Carbs Feed lung cancer cells?
I've been scheduled for PET/CT scan Sept 9 (follow middle right-lung lobectomy May 22, stage 1 adenocarcinoma) to check on 2 nodules in upper right lung & 1 in left lung. Preparation for the scan requires avoiding foods containing sugar and/or carbs. 24 hours prior, Do Not eat: sweets, bread, pasta

Cimzia
I was wondering if anyone here has been on Cimzia. My rheumy wanted to put me on humira but I guess thats for the rich and famouse here in the states. I have been on methotrexat and it was great until I got a perforation in my intestine. I have been on lafluentamide and it isn't really doing it for me

Surgery scheduled
We have a date: July 10. A part of me wishes it would happen sooner so we can get this over and done with, but I am grateful for the time to prepare and get things set up at work and at home. The plan is for VAT surgery, right upper lobectomy to remove the nodule with adenocarcinoma and mediastinal lymph

CT Scan 5 months after lobectomy.
Hi again people, hope all is well. I just have a quick question please. Quick background in case unfamiliar, my tumour was found on the 31st January this year. I had an upper right lobectomy on 21st March (5cm stage IIa adenocarcinoma) and am half way through four rounds of chemotherapy using cisplatin

Lobectomy in3 days
This past year I’ve had a malignant melanoma, breast cancer and now lung cancer- all right side of body and all unconnected. Lung cancer was picked up at a radiotherapy scan by an oncologist who was to plan my radiotherapy. This tumour is 2.7cm and is upper right lobe. I’m to get a right lobe Lobectomy

Post op complications
Hi, it's been 7 weeks since I had a left upper lobectomy. After operation I felt fine, managed to get out and about, still some pain but manageable. Then 2 weeks ago I was readmitted with fluid on my lung and infection somewhere. In for a week with IV antibiotics then oral antibiotics. Unable to eat

Recurrence generic testing
I was wondering why after right middle lung lobectomy for early stage adenocarcinoma they did not do genetic testing? Seems it would be better to know what paths to take if it recurs. Wouldn’t it be better to know before and not have to wait for these results then? Should I feel short changed?

Good news - stage IIIb NSCLC Adeno
Hi I just wanted to share some good news. My recent scans have come back all clear again! I had an MRI head and paid for a private PET scan for body. I was originally diagnosed in 2014 , aged 43, and was told it was incurable, inoperable and terminal. Since then I have had four rounds of chemo (Cisplatin
