Hello, First time writing and being on the forum so I apologise if this question has asked before. I have been diagnosed with PA for just over a year and a half and have 3 monthly B12 injections. Around the second month after the B12 injection I get a massive drop off. I get a metallic taste in my mouth

Hubby and his heart
My husband had bad flu over Christmas and since then has had huge issues with breathlessness, bloating, fluid retention and fatigue. He's had ECG's, MRI , chest x-ray and bloods. This has shown up that he has fluid around his heart as it's just not pumping properly, is severely anaemic and his vitamin

coughing up blood
Hi all Hoping you can alleviate my worry. I’ve recently had another infection and this time there were 2 bacteria’s in the sputum. I’ve been treated but still coughing up a very small amount of blood now and then. Is this normal for people with bronchiectasis? I had a chest X-ray a couple of months

Feeling poorly

I sometimes wake up with sweat around my neck and chest. The steroid injection I had 13 days ago helped a bit to decrease the intensity of pain but it hasn

GP appointment and blood tests - will recent steroid injection skew results?
Afternoon everyone, I had a GP appointment yesterday to discuss my symptoms. Went through everything that has happened since the summer. She sent me for blood tests today which included CRP, ESR, Rheumatoid factor and various other tests relating to autoimmune conditions. She insisted I call back for

Does anyone get upper abdomen pain that radiates through to the back ?
I have been having frequent back pain along with usual upper abdominal pain. This is particularly after eating mainly of an evening. I ended up in A and E 2 days ago after a really bad night of this constant pain. I had bloods done which doctors said were unremarkable plus a chest x ray which was clear

Multiple lung diagnoses: feedback please
hi. This is my first post here. I have televisit with my GP in june but meanwhile sitting on these CT scan results: mild emphesima, mild bronchiectasis, atelectasis and chest X-Ray says: hyperinflation. They are following a few nodules ( thus the CT scan) which are ok. Stable. And I have asthma. I

Worried
Thursday evening I started to get palpitations, they were mild to what I’ve had before so I (stupidly) didn’t go to hospital. They subsided after 2 hours but my heart continued racing over 100bpm so after a few more hours I went to a&e. They did an ecg and hooked me up to fluids and gave me a dose of

I will try and keep this as short as possible. 21 years ago GP diagnosed PA and up until 3 years ago I had B12 injections every 12 weeks. 3 years ago the CCG instructed GP's to cut down giving injections to anyone unless they had PA. My jobsworth GP decided to give me a blood test, which was in range

15 year AF story
First episode of AF about 15 years ago. Heart rate ~155. Would sometimes reset itself. Initially fixed with Flecanide, then Amiodorone. Flecanide then inadequate and I suffered a very unpleasant fainting/blackout reaction to amiodorone when an IV drip was started in A&E. So further episodes sorted by

Just an update after my bood test shower hf.I am still waiting on the echo. I was to have a chest x-ray. I mentioned back pain so I got both done. Chest x-ray was fine. The back x-ray was late!! Mmm Turns out I have a blocked artery in my left hip. Along with the heart meds, I also now am given aspirin

Ferritin
I have just had an Advanced Thyroid Test from Medichecks. My Free T4 and Free T3 may look good but I have been getting a return of my symptoms so have upped my NDT from 2.5 grains to 3. It is my ferritin which I am not happy about. Is it too low? I eat very little red meat which is probably why it is

Sleeping with ectopics
I have been getting ectopic beats for the last three weeks. At times it can be as many as 1 every 30 normal beats, at other times I don’t get one for hours. No idea what the triggers are. Already on BP meds, including Bisoprolol. Went to see GP last week, she sent me off to ED where an ECG, blood tests

Mycophenolate instead of Perfinedine or Nintenanib?
Hi everyone I became breathless suddenly in August 2023. This was initially dismissed by my GP even though O2 was 90% as my chest was clear and I had no cough. A fortnight later I was able to get an appointment with a different GP who sent me for a chest X ray which showed I had pulmonary fibrosis.
