Update: x-ray shock 😲
Just an update after my bood test shower hf.I am still waiting on the echo. I was to have a chest x-ray. I mentioned back pain so I got both done. Chest x-ray was fine. The back x-ray was late!! Mmm Turns out I have a blocked artery in my left hip. Along with the heart meds, I also now am given aspirin

Ferritin
I have just had an Advanced Thyroid Test from Medichecks. My Free T4 and Free T3 may look good but I have been getting a return of my symptoms so have upped my NDT from 2.5 grains to 3. It is my ferritin which I am not happy about. Is it too low? I eat very little red meat which is probably why it is

Sleeping with ectopics
I have been getting ectopic beats for the last three weeks. At times it can be as many as 1 every 30 normal beats, at other times I don’t get one for hours. No idea what the triggers are. Already on BP meds, including Bisoprolol. Went to see GP last week, she sent me off to ED where an ECG, blood tests

Mycophenolate instead of Perfinedine or Nintenanib?
Hi everyone I became breathless suddenly in August 2023. This was initially dismissed by my GP even though O2 was 90% as my chest was clear and I had no cough. A fortnight later I was able to get an appointment with a different GP who sent me for a chest X ray which showed I had pulmonary fibrosis.

lapararoscopy
I have a complex cyst probably 7.2-7.4cm and have been told that I will need eventual laparascopy. I am back 23rd of July again for another tvultrasound to check how it is. The gynae/surgeon has done watchful waiting with me since my diagnosis as he knows I am a carer for my mum and I have no one else

INTRINSIC FACTOR ANTIBODY positive result
Does a positive INTRINSIC FACTOR ANTIBODY mean I have Pernicious Anemia? Does this mean I'm on B12 shots for life?

Do those with thin linings have light periods?
Hello,I have unexplained infertility. Have had one failed cycle that produced 3 good quality blasts. 1 x fresh failed and 2 x FET both failed to implant. I had one cycle cancelled due to thin lining of 5.5mm. I now take additional estrogen, Viagra, Aspirin and progesterone which have given me a lining

Have I got RA ?
Hi I have been taking Prednisolone for PMR for 18 months and now on 5mg each morning under the care of a Rhuematologist . I have had Osteoarthritis for a good few years mainly in my finger joints . My Dr is now questioning if I have RA because my middle finger on the right hand is markedly more swollen

Full-text article from 1969
This article is beyond me. I am posting it because it seems relevant on the face; in addition, it is a 1969 article, and full text of articles from the 1960s and 1970s are rarely available, which would seem to suggest that this article is a special case. Therefore, some people on this forum might be

my story
I started on cobalamin injections pre Covid then when lockdown arrived was put on Tablet form which remained until last July when a retired Doctor in our practice noticed I’d been requesting to be given B12 injections once more. I’d gone for a different reason but I felt so well by next day it convinced

Pretty stressed
Hi lovely people. I have HF and a CRT-d. Been ok for a while but had to have a chest X-ray recently for another issue. It’s come back showing a trace of copd/bronchitis damage? The doc said if I start having symptoms they’ll give me an inhaler. One doctor said don’t worry about it but another asked

Yet another clueless G.P. - I despair!
So, I've been getting symptoms that I'm pretty sure are down to my thyroid being on the fritz. I was recommended a new G.P. at the practice who takes an interest in autoimmune problems. So I sit down, tell her that my hair is falling out, I'm gaining weight, tired, palpitations etc and that I have autoimmune

intrinsic factor test
My GP agreed to do an intrinsic factor antibody test. The test he did was IgA and the results came back as within normal range.1.10gl normal range 0.8 to 4.0 . Was this the correct test for pernicious anemia? Thank you

Latest results and my plan...
Hello I am symptomatic of low B12 and/or Hypothyroidism. GP isn't concerned and advised me to take B12 supplements, but will retest Thyroid in 6 months time. My plan is to raise B12, Ferretin, Foltate, and Vit D to the top 25% of range and then see how I feel and redo TFTs. I am happy to pay

Hypothesis II
My hypothesis is that the antibody that attacks the intrinsic factor and or parietal cell may also bind to B12 rendering it unusable at the cellular level. That the production of the antibody with regards to amount is unknown and different at different times for the individual and different for each

SWOLLEN ANKLES WITH LUNG CONDITION
Hi, This is my first post on here I think. Almost a year ago I was in hospital as I couldn't breath, felt like I was suffocating. I'd had a chest x-ray 6 months previous and was told my lungs were quite normal and my dr couldn't find a reason for my breathlessness. It did improve for a while, but came
