terrible metalic taste in my mouth ALL the time!

I’m now into my second year of PMR, I’m on 5mgs of Prednisone and 20mgs of somac a day, 50mgs of Endep at night.

I don’t think I have changed anything in my diet etc but I have a terrible metallic taste in my mouth constantly, nothing cuts through it, I’ve tried biting a lime and nothing, whatever I eat it is there straight after I swallow! Please any advice would be appreciated! I have read all the things from years ago but nothing is the same as me, ie smell loss etc!

Metallic taste is a listed side effect of Somac - pantoprazole is the active substance, Endep or amitryptiline has an unpleasant taste of its own and has been found to affect taste sensations.

So to be honest - that is where I would look, Maybe your doctor can offer a different drug?

i agree with PMRpro. My husband found that drinking orange gatorade helped with the metallic taste while he was taking Paxlovid. Maybe that will help.
