Six hour time change
Going from US to EU for an 8-day river cruise. Should I take my prednisone at the same UTC time, or make a temporary adjustment to the new time zone?

pmr symptoms
has anyone else had posterior base of head pain with pressure headaches that also wrap around anterior upper chest and neck area with a tight, vise like feeling. Seems like the pain is traveling upward from the original shoulder and back pain, but no temporal or jaw pain. Currently on 15 mg prednisone

I began the journey with PMR and Prednisone in July of 2021. Very scary time as theories were circulating throughout the world that the Covid-19 vax was responsible. I began tapering after 1week on a euphoric 40mg to 10mg which kept the inflammation and symptoms at bay. My blood tests did not confirm

reduced prednisone
I’m now reducing prednisone from 20mg to 15mg only second day and my stomach has swollen like a balloon making it very uncomfortable for me to move around. I really don’t know what to do. Has anyone else suffered this?

I would welcome some advice. Been on prednisone since February 2023, also on tocilizumab injections. Currently taking 7mg prednisone. I am trying to lose some of my weight gain. I tried 1500 calories a day and lost nothing. Now doing low carb but weight not moving. My daughter gets married in August

History of Hypothyroidism on Maternal Side (Gma, mom, aunt, sister). HELP! Should I get tested?
After I gave birth in 2006, I immediately had a “flare up.” My body ached , I felt exhausted and was covered in hives (rashes, welts, eczema). I was put on a Prednisone taper starting at 60mg. Throughout the time between 2006 and 2024, I have regular flare ups. I’ve torn two rotator cuffs, awoken to

how quickly did you feel relief by taking prednisolone?
posted before about potential PMR. Painful bilateral shoulders, upper and lower back pain, neck pain, sacroiliac, thigh pain etc. raised. Inflammation markers so prescribed 15mg prednisolone with repeat bloods after 2 weeks. Just wondering if this is PMR, how soon can I possibly find some relief?

High platelet count due to iron deficiency anaemia maybe?
Just again when I thought all was going well ! High platelet count from recent blood test shows Platelet count 515 10*9/L Platelet count has been abnormal for some time, but never this high. Not sure whether I should request the ferrous sulphate again, OR could it be PMR flare. I have felt pretty

titrating down Prednisolone
Titrating down your prednisolone becomes more problematic the lower the dose you are on so the reaction can be more profound, e.g if you are on 4mg for example & you reduce 1mg that is actually 25%. I titrate down 1mg every 6 weeks & have found I am having ‘withdrawal symptoms more than before so have

General Headache Question
Hi all, I have two GCA-related questions.... Question 1: If a GCA patient has a headache and they take extra prednisone (thinking it a flare) and the headache goes away, is that evidence that the headache was in fact inflammatory in nature? Question 2: If a GCA patient has a headache and they take

I have GCA and I have been tapering prednisone for 3 years. I am on my second attempt at tapering prednisone and just got to 4mg. Last year I actually got down to 3 mg but suffered a 4th and acute diverticulitis attack which was too much for my sputtering adrenals. While in the ER the PA didn’t

All in my mind, apparently!!!
I’d be most interested in opinions on this. Had a telephone conversation with my Rheumy a few weeks ago, which was 9 months since the last one – in a year when I had experienced considerable stress in Health, Work and Bereavement. I explained that I had tried to reduce the 20mg Methotrexate dose to
