Advice Please, I am in a terrible state.
I am a mess. I was tapering my prednisolone from 3mg to 2.5 mg using a reduction over 14 weeks, starting 19th September and was progressing nicely. In November we travelled long haul UK to USA, journey no hassle, flights good. But, I did experienced emotional stress caused by a family upset while

pain relief for sciatica
I've trapped the sciatic nerve in my left hip. I have exercises which help, but still need pain relief. Paracetamol has no effect, is it safe to take ibuprofen with prednisolone? I thought I had read somewhere that it wasn't.

Prednisolone Week 1 Completed
UPDATE: So, my first week of Prednisolone is over....30mg goes down to 20mg today. My symptoms are MASSIVELY improved. I would say I'm about at 85% full functionality in all areas. I still experience some pain in my right shoulder on waking and also in my right hip. My hand stiffness has virtually completely

Time it takes to kick in - prednisone vs prednisilone?
Hello everyone, I'm having trouble finding an answer to this and I was hoping someone here might know. From what I understand, prednisone is a pro drug, so it has to be converted in your liver first and takes around 2 hours to fully kick in. Whereas prednisolone is already the active version, so it

Prednisolone Brand Differences
My first post on my PMR journey. This forum has an unbelievable depth of knowledge which has helped me understand the condition and the road forward so thank you everyone for sharing your advice. Just 3 weeks in on 15mg and going OK. But suddenly a backward step in discomfort which coincided with a change

Can’t reduce below 5mg
hello I’ve just joined this group in the hope that I can get some advice or at least some understanding of my situation! I was diagnosed with PMR nearly 2 years ago when I was 58. I’ve been on Prednisolone ever since, starting on 20mg which resulted in the usual miraculous sense of relief, and have managed

Nocturnal asthma
Hi, I hope everyone is well. I'm not too sure if there's any point in me posting this but maybe more of a way to vent. Since turning 29-30, I've spent the last 7 years struggling with nocturnal asthma and flare ups that usually get their worst in July -august and grass pollen season. Also causing some

Advice on back pain & pred dosing...
Morning, i joined this group a few months ago and find it so useful even though I don't have pmr. I do have tertiary adrenal insufficiency, ulcerative colitis, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia and possibly pots. In the last 2 years after having covid twice I developed cushing symptom due to over replacement

PMR and Pfizer Covid Vaccine
Within 5 days of my husband and I receiving the first Pfizer Covid jab, he started getting pains in his legs and shoulders. He took paracetamol & used Bio Freeze, similar to deep heat. He got progressively worse, a GP diagnosed Frozen Shoulder over the phone, prescribed Co-Codamol & Naproxen. Within

Prednisone for treatment of AIG
I've just been started on Prednisone or Prednisolone, immunosuppressant steroids, for treatment of Autoimmune Gastritis/autoimmune PA. This has recently, within the last few years been shown to possibly heal AIG, although not entirely cure. It is also used to prevention immune system rejection of organ

Stopped pred recently and not so bushy tailed.
Hi, I am fortunate to have stopped taking Prednisolone nearly 3 weeks ago. I feel a bit more tired this week and generally a bit stiff in my muscles - however weekly yoga seems to help with the muscles. Also I have continued to have sore muscles in my chest and slight pins and needles feeling in

Have I got RA ?
Hi I have been taking Prednisolone for PMR for 18 months and now on 5mg each morning under the care of a Rhuematologist . I have had Osteoarthritis for a good few years mainly in my finger joints . My Dr is now questioning if I have RA because my middle finger on the right hand is markedly more swollen

Dexa results
I have just received my dexa results after a year on Prednisolone and Risedronate. Lumber spine is normal, but left hip and left neck of femur ( they only scanned the left) show Osteopenia. I understand what T scores and Z scores are, but I got three figures for each site, and I wondered if anyone knows
