LWMDR results --- After Lab Test
The blood test was taken on 7th March 2015 and the FBS and PPBS were shooting up to 190 and 230 respectively in April 2015. By end of April 2015, I decided to try out LWMDR , with the idea of bringing the sugar values under control, "to start with". I started LWMDR on 28th April 2015. Inbetween, twice

Muscle pains
At the age of 17 (now 31) I was diagnosed with Familial Hypercholesterolemia and had genetic testing to prove this. Cholesterol levels were 11.7 mmol. Started simvastatin at 20mg, cholesterol did not lower. Increased to 40mg and slight alteration but severe muscle pains. So bad i couldnt get out of bed

Cholesterol con and more
Hi there, just back after a few weeks of reading the Cholesterol Con book; although I really enjoyed reading the book and I feel that he has a lot of common sense and relative truths in his favor, however I'm still anxious about not doing anything to lower the LDL levels. So having seen a heart specialist

Did all the 'right' things and cholesterol got MUCH worse?!
Last July my total cholesterol was 5.2, LDL 3.9, HDL 1.6, Trigs 0.22. I had been taking Liptor 10mg every other day, but even that small amount was causing unacceptable side-effects (yes, I tried other kinds too), so I stopped. I lost 50lbs, started exercising moderately/intensively for a minimum of

Hair loss is really upsetting me! Any info pls? :'(
I've lost half of my hair and it's not stopping! The Endo and GP are doing nothing! I've read that Levothyroxine and other synthetic thyroid meds are linked to hair loss too! Now I am afraid to take recommended dose, because when I wasn't on any meds, my hair wasn't falling out as bad as now! Is NDT

Cholesterol in the NEWS
Two very interesting article in the copy of the daily mail in the health section. Looking at the cost comparison, "Will NHS have the budget for it?" This may not be new but very interesting. Jab cuts cholesterol better than statins and may halve patients' chances of suffering a heart attack and dying

My husband has just returned from his GP with a prescription for statins. He's feeling confused about whether to take them.
My hubby is 62 and a type 2 diabetic 5.6 (on medication) His blood pressure is normal. His weight is perfect for his height. His total cholesterol is 3.2 (he doesn't know the broken down figures). He's never had any heart problems and is in decent health otherwise. The doctor prescribed 20mg of Atorvastatin

Hashimotos, long-term use of just Levo and chorlesterol.
I have recently read up (Stop the Thyroid Madness and Dr P book) and wondered what people thought about the issue with Cholesterol problems resulting from taking T4 only for many years? This seems to be a Hashi issue. My GP has never mentioned this, I have never had a cholesterol test. I am nearly 45

3 grains of NDT and my T4 is only 8.2???
Hi, I've been switching over from T3 only (60mcgs) to NDT. I feel very hypo even though I'm now on 4 grains and I suspect I'm not converting. However I had some bloods done last week when I was on 3 grains of NDT and my TSH had come up from 0.01 since the last time it was tested on T3 only (as one
