I'm looking for an answer, my doctors are apparently useless.
I have been going through hell for the past 5 months, due to, what I can see as an incompetent medical system. They have diagnosed me with Sub clinical Hyperthyroidism, w/associated anxiety. My symptoms are nervousness, no appetite, loss of weight, tremors, palpitations, brain buzz, lightheaded, muscle

Recently diagnosed
Dear all - I have been recently diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, after I went into the GP with a fast heart rate (I hadn't noticed the irregularity) following anxiety after 2 eye operations for pressure, with several pressure spikes due to reaction to the steroid drops. I'd never heard of atrial

Statins -should I have accepted when offered? What would others do?
Two months ago I had a routine cholesterol test and the dr was happy enough with the results [total 6.6; HDL 2.8*; ratio 2.4; se non HDL 3.8] although she thought the total was rather high she said the LDL [se non HDL?] of 3.8 and the ratio were fine. The HDL of 2.8* she thought OK too. My routine check

Did it...
Thought I posted this, earlier, but not sure now! Week 6, run 1, completed this morning. It was a beautiful morning.. rain came later. I agree with some previous posts, that this run felt a little difficult, especially after running for twenty minutes in week 5. The first bit was, (weirdly) the hardest

PCSK-9
Interested to see that PCSK-9 is now available. I have FH and took part in a trial for this drug. Injected once every two weeks along with a real or placebo statin my cholestrol was reduced by half!

cholesterol measurements
Can someone explain the way cholesterol measurements are recorded now. Until 2 years or so ago you had : Total; HDL; ratio; LDL and triglycerides. Now you have Total; HDL; ratio; and se no HDL. This last measurement puzzles me and what does the 'se no' stand for? I understand it is LDL and trigs combined

In the surgery it was 200/100
