cataract surgery
I had my ophthalmology appointment yesterday and was told I need to have
cataract
surgery
, which explains why driving at night is so bad. Has anyone had
cataract
surgery
? I’m on Ibrance and Letrozole.

First run after hernia op
Those of you who read Damien's parkrun post every Saturday will be aware that I was diagnosed with a hernia in February. I was told that it wasn't linked with running and the type I had (inguinal) is not uncommon among 'older' men. It was only occasionally painful but often uncomfortable, so initially

Running in circles
I will try and make this the short version. My husband has advanced prostate cancer 4+5=9 (Gleason 9). One year ago it metastasized to the T9. He had radiation to the spot. In the meantime, he has had severe pain in the neck area. after scans, they said it was from an injury. (he has never had an injury

Treatment - radiation vs. surgery
Hello, I posted previously after I was first diagnosed and had some great feedback. I wanted to try once more after being able to spend the past couple of months researching and trying to make the best treatment decision moving forward. For anyone similarly affected, it might help to reflect on what

surgery update: 5am, and after the clouds, the Sun!
hi all. Back! surgery went ahead, and my horrible tumour is now gone. It will be a while though before i dont need bandages, but….. It … is… gone! I managed to spend just one night in hospital, and shocked I think everyone by recovering from a pretty heavy anaesthetic in almost record time. Medical

Private Consultation Findings - thoughts on next steps
Hello everyone. I am looking for some advice and experiences on Dienogest / Zalkya. Diagnosed in 2022 via lap by general gynae and never prescribed anything. Own GP has tried me on contraceptives & meds for pain management, which nearly tipped me over the edge. After a scare with my mental health,

I've had guided steroid injections in my 2 shoulders and omg it worked instantly!!!!. I've suffered ever since I had surgery

Dissected aortic aneurysm
After reading some of the posts I realise that I am not alone in not having much information about my condition. My dissection was not traumatic, in fact I didn't realise I had it until I had an echo cardiographer and then a ct scan,. Naturally I 'googled' the condition afterbeing told by my GP that

Good News Update on my Joe
This Friday Joe will get his 4th dose of Pluvicto. His PSA dropped from 7.69 last month to 4.88 this month. He experiences fatigue, which is remedied by dexamethasone on the days he has something he wants to do. Otherwise, he sleeps. No other side effects worth mentioning at this time. I asked for

WolfMiniMaze in Japan
I've got really lucky to get a surgery date in the 1half of December 2023. I'll be celebrating my 67th birthday in Japan, hopefully already AF free. My symptoms are really getting annoying as I get AF from music, especially heavy metal and today from jazz. Some voices , especially bass and/or angry ones

Dexa scan and low vitamin D
A GP at the surgery is insisting on a dexa scan as my TSH has been suppressed since I trialled T3, and she’s adamant I’m to reduce my levo dose (see my last two posts if more information needed). My question is, I had dire vitamin D levels of 22 and deficiency for I suspect at least 7 years whilst carrying

sore, red eyes.
I’ve developed sore eyes this year. After going back and forth between GP and Optician, and making certain lifestyle changes , the diagnosis is it’s probably down to my thyroid. I’ve been taking Levothyroxin since I was diagnosed 12 years ago after Bowel Cancer surgery. I’m using eye drops every day

hernia surgery options after Sbrt?
I finished Sbrt last September 2023. I’ve got a minor inguinal hernia that a surgeon just told me didn’t need surgery yet. But he went on to say that laparoscopic/robotic wasn’t an option because of my radiation Tx and the possibility of having to go in if a cancer recurrence. Only option was old school

went off Xgeva for a year, have to go back on it. Ideas or tips helpful
Hi, the short version is I’ve been dealing w stage 4 MBC since 2019/ 2020 with mets to the bones since 2020, including a thoracic spinal fracture which led to a spinal fusion. I was put on Xgeva for a couple of years and later read on Xgeva’s website that being on it long term is likely to increase

D day is here!
after a year of enduring this tumour, D Day is here! Surgery is just hours away. feeling good. After being left quite ill after a failed iron infusion, but made better by one which worked with a blood transfusion, feeling good. Thats not to say that there arent butterflies, of course there are. But
