My first visit to the EP
I saw my EP today and they informed me that the 30 day event monitor showed that I had 2 events that lasted less than 10 seconds. He said there were two options that he recommended. (1) Start on Propafenone (RYTHMOL) 150mg 3 times a day. He said it will not cure the AF but it might prevent it. He said

Coming off Statins
I am a 76 year old male having had two cardio versions and one cardiac ablation. I also had two stents fitted about 3 years ago following a mild heart attack. I had been on various statins for about 5 years with muscular weakening side effects. I decided to take myself off statins (Atorvastatin

Confusing symptoms after partial thyroidectomy.
I just had a partial thyroidectomy done on 12/11/2015. I didn't know what to expect from the surgery and it's still early. I have severe narcolepsy and take stimulants everyday to stay awake. They are a must have. However, the day after my surgery I stayed awake with energy for most of the day without

Going to have a cardiac ablation for Afib
I'm going to have a cardiac ablation within the next month and I just want to see from people who have had it what are some of the things I can do in preparation for it or to ask the doctor to do for me to make it painless and recuperate without anxiety!

Hi All, I posted for the first time last week asking for advice before visiting doctor. In short I had a partial thyroidectomy about 6 years ago and feel I've had under active symptoms since. I have been referred to endo for a follow up. I have also been sent for free T4 free t3 and Tsh. Can I ask when

Symptoms following Partial thyroidectomy
Hello, I'm new here and hoping you may be able to help. I had a partial thyroidectomy 5 years ago after putting up with a multinodular goitre for too long. The size of a orange! I now have only the right side left and have never been given any medication as apparently the half that is left is functioning

T3 Results
Hello Since 1994 after a partial thyroidectomy for Graves Disease I have been on 200mcg Levo. Over the last 2/3 years my GPs have asked me to reduce my dose as they told me I have been overmedicated. I am now taking 100mcg. I recently had a Blue Horizon test which included T3 which to my knowledge has

Partial Thyroidectomy
Hi , Im asking on behalf of a very dear friend, she has recently (3 months ago) had half her thyroid removed due to suspicious nodules, since then she has become extremely depressed, she can't be left on her own and is on very high dose anti-depressants. I spoke to her daughter today who seems to think

Interpreting lab results
I would be grateful for any help in interpreting my recent lab results. Everything is within the normal range , except for anti thyroidperiddase abs which are well above range - I am assuming this is why i developed a goitre and had partial thyroidectomy 16 years ago. Is there any point in showing

Husband's adventures
Complaining of severe epigastric abdominal pain and looking really unwell, with vomiting the out of hours doctor referred him to A & E. Until now he has been a healthy 73 year old overweight and has lost four stone in 60 months, just re=educating his palate and being married to me. Still working.

Hello Everyone, I'm sure you've heard this story many times but your advice would be very much appreciated and apologies for the length of the post. I'm 27 years old. Had a Partial thyroidectomy February 2014. Was put on leveothyroxine 50mcg in Summer 2014 after becoming symptomatic. All went back

Hoping someone might be able to give me some insight on my TSH levels after partialthyroidectomy.
I realize there really is no "standard" normal range for thyroid labs because every provider seems to differ. I'm in the US, and the "within range" for TSH is 0.450-4.500 uIU/mL. I had a partial thyroidectomy due to hyperthyroidism and goiter with hot nodules. This was in 2004...so over 10 years ago
