Total thyroidectomy after partial - any surprises in store?
Hi again! So, I had a partial thyroidectomy last month and the remaining half will be removed at the end of this month (papillary carcinoma). I'm suppose I'm just looking for a bit of quick reassurance from people who had a TT done in 2 stages. I felt pretty ok after my first surgery, all things considered

Here'so hoping...
OK so I've taken the plunge and sourced some t3. For those who have seen previous posts I am convinced I have a conversion problem. Brief history... partial thyroidectomy 10 yrs ago. Put straight on levo. Put on weight gradually then about 4 stone when pregnant and have never managed to lose. T3

Reflux issues after surgery
Hi! Am looking for a bit of advice. I had a partial thyroidectomy 6 days ago and I am having a couple of issues that are worrying me, that I'm hoping others have experienced and can tell me if it's normal or not? I've been trying to get hold of my hospital ward all day (no luck) and the earliest GP appt

More Issues: DEXCOM (Más cuestiones: DEXCOM)
Here's a picture I just took tonight of my DEXCOM receiver. This is how the screen looked for most of the day today. Every time I think about calling the DEXCOM Technical Support help line, the numbers and arrows come back just in time. I'm hoping this will be the case later tonight because I can't

Thyroid Lobectomy anyone????
Hello my friends, Today I had my thyroid uptake scan review with a ENT surgeon. He preformed an high sensitivity ultra sound and determined that my hyper-functioning nodule and cold nodule need to be removed. Both are on the right lobe, so he stated that he can leave 60% of the thyroid intact, which

SVT recurring 5 years after ablation in 11 yr old son. Seek 2nd ablation?
Hi I would welcome advice or similar stories from anyone in the AA community please. Our son was diagnosed with SVT when 2 years old. After 4 years of increasingly severe and disruptive symptoms, for which medication was not helping he was admitted to Alder Hey children's hospital for cardiac ablation

Weight gain with increased Levothyroxine
I had a partial thyroidectomy in 2011 - one large benign tumour, one small cancerous. Have been on levo since beginning 2013. In 2014 I lost 6 stone with healthy eating, but also lost all by hair and had a lot of other symptoms - levo was increased to 100mg - but my weight loss immediately stalled.

Update on my first appointment with endocrinologist
Okay, I saw an endo for the first time today at my local hospital. Waited 4 months for this day. I went in well prepared, with my graph of blood results, list of symptoms etc. Dr was fine, she listened to everything I had to say, no complaint there. As my TPO was fine and other tests, she ruled out Hashimoto

Am I hypo?
Hi! My name is Tamzin. I have been reading all the messages in desperate need of some answers. I had a partial thyroidectomy in 2009 a couple of months after giving birth to my daughter. I had multiple nodules that came back as benign after the operation. Apart from being tired, I never needed any medication

Living with no Thyroid since 2006.
Hi there I am new to the site and was hoping to find like people who have undergone a full or partial Thyroidectomy and how they are getting on with life. Not looking for a moan, I guess I'm looking for people to sound off and for advice. After being diagnosed with Thyroid cancer, I underwent 2 operations

Pituitary and Thyroid
Hi, I had an MRI that says this and I am waiting to see the endo but am wondering if I could get any insight into what to expect? Here are the results: The pituitary stalk is slightly deviated towards the left. There is a CSF intensity region involving the upper posterior portion of the pituitary gland

Cardiac Ablation
I had a cardiac ablation last July 2015 after having A-Fib 40+ years. I now pop into A-Fib every two months. My cardiologist says if it starts to happen more often, he will repeat the procedure. Has anyone else had this done twice and did that work?

What should a normal TSH reading be?
I have been on Levothyroxine - between 50 and 100mg - currently 75mg - I had a partial thyroidectomy in 2011 for two different tumours in one side of the thryroid. Parathyroids still intact. Started levothyroxine in March 2013. After stabilizing on 75mg - my TSH reading runs between 2.1 and 4.8 - GP
