Thyroid surgeons in Wales? Need a recommendation please.
Has anyone here had a thyroid operation by a particularly good surgeon in Wales? I may soon need a partial thyroidectomy and want to have the best private surgeon possible. I'd rather it was in Wales as that's where I live (south west Wales in fact) but am prepared to travel a moderate distance (to

Anyone have experience of taking 100mg thyroxine when clinically euthyroid as a long term nodule preventative after a partial thyroidectomy?
Will I go all hyperthyroid and get sick? Additionally I'm breastfeeding a tiny baby (8 wks) and wouldn't want to mess my milk supply.

Weight gain after thyroidectomy, please help!
I had a partial thyroidectomy in November, cancer was found so I had the rest of the thyroid removed 4 weeks later. Was on 150mcg but it was upped to 175 at the beginning of Feb. I still feel absolutely shattered all the time, I have gained weight which is really depressing & could just shut myself away

New receptionist
Is this story familiar? I ring the surgery for a blood test, and get a new receptionist. Hi I'm due a blood test before my visit to the ENT clinic after my partial thyroidectomy, do I need to see the GP or just see the phelbotomist? [i] (wrong - open question - I meant I don't usually see the

New (partial) diagnosis for an old problem
After nearly ten years of feeling tired, unbearably heavy periods, depression, and aches and pains, I have been told that I have a problem with my thyroid. Hallelujah. I went for an ultrasound for something unrelated, and the person dng it spent a while scanning my thyroid and asking me questions abut

Do endocrinologists as a rule only believe in Levothyroxine to treat hypothyroidism? I am about to be referred for the second time by my GP.
I had a partial thyroidectomy 34 years ago, and have been diagnosed as hypoactive, and have taken 100-125 mg Levothyroxin for the last 9 years, however recently, although my T3 is 4.5, T4 18.8 and TSH .03 appearing normal, I have a multitude of hypothyroid symptoms which are gradually increasing and

Concerns about B12 jabs are the least of my worries!
Before being diagnosed in early 2010 I'd never even heard of Pernicious Anaemia yet alone know the effects of this disease. I was just relieved to get a diagnosis for the symptoms I'd been suffering for a couple of years and looked forward to being on the mend. I'd had a pain in my side (2008)

Do you have thyroid trouble or ME?
The blood test says TSH 2.5 from 1.6 - that's fine and 'normal', but you might have ME - what? Am I supposed to think that it's just a coincidence that I've had a partial thyroidectomy? I did ask for T4 even T3 & antibody tests - hell no! Keep smiling :D (tried to add tags but then I just lose the text

How often do you have blood tests?
Not diagnosed but I had a partial thyroidectomy 8/9 weeks ago, shouldn't I have had a blood test by now? I felt better at first but now feel so tired, tingling hands, aches & very unsure of myself etc. My kids tell me to stop being a wimp and grow some balls!!!
