Which T3 Blood Test?
Hello Everyone, Had a partial thyroidectomy because of para thyroid cyst in Feb 2014. Went on 50mcg thyroxine in June 2014. Felt better but have been gradually feeling worse since Christmas 2014. Went to GP. TSH was 2.67. The lab refused to test T4 or T3. She agreed to increase to 75mcg and see what

I had a partial thyroidectomy in October 2014 and am feeling and displaying hypothyroid symptoms - basically feel terrible! Just got back from seeing my doctor, he said he felt my blood results were normal and was unwilling to treat me based on my clinical symptoms - he did however admit this was because

partial thyroidectomy
Hi all, Can anyone who's had this operation tell me little more about recovery times and pain after the op. My surgeon was all very reassuring - one night stay in hospital, very little after pain, etc. I'm sure he also said I'd be up and about pretty much immediately after i got home, but I have two

Start all over again
well it is just after 8pm here in Oz and I just had a call from rheumatology to say stop taking imuran as my liver test came back and they have gone from 240 to 860 in the last few weeks. So now the good news is I have to start the three month wait again to be eligible for biologics on something new.

Hi all!! I am brand new here…. In the past few years I’ve had 2 MIs, and a CABGx2 (9/17/14)… (and lost my only brother to Afib in Sept)… I was feeling great when a sharp pain over my heart through my left shoulder to the back of my neck… the pain was intense when I laid down…. I went to the hospital

and so it continues
Well it has been a whirlwind couple of weeks. Hubby home from New Zealand after 7 weeks with his kids, glad he did as it may be the last time they see him. Off to specialist with him as he is getting very deaf and I suspect early stages of dementia so doesn't understand what is being said to him. He

no symptoms, doubting need for surgery
Hi all, newbie here. Looking for some advice about surgery. I've had a pretty big thyroid nodule for over ten years, several FNAs and ultrasounds all came back benign. It's about 5cm but has stopped growing. Until last year all my blood tests came back normal but during my recent second pregnancy routine

Partial thyroidectomy on Tuesday would love some advice and tips please...?
Hi there! Well it seems like I have been waiting forever for this op and it's nearly here. I can't lie, I'm quite nervous and trying my best to stay positive and keep calm. My biopsy showed 3 in diagnosis so it was recommended to remove the right side where the nodules are etc. My main concern is that

Autoantibodies and depression: evidence for a causal link?
We see a lot of people here with, either currently or in the past, depression. It is often suggested and believed that inappropriate thyroid hormone levels can cause depression. This might well be true - but this paper suggests that elevated antibodies might be a cause. Mind, give current attitudes

Hypothyroidism and foods to avoid
I suffered from Hyperthyroidism in my mid thirties, had partial thyroidectomy and thereafter Radio-active Iodine as I was forming a Goitre again again and still Hyperthyroid. After the Iodine I went from Hyper to Hypothyroid after several years. I have recently been put on levothyroxine 25mcg to add

Pain between shoulder blades. Connected to thyroid nodule?
I am still struggling to understand my blood test results compared to everyone else. There are loads of posts on here from people who have many hypo symptoms and feel terrible on so much lower results than mine. My TSH is 12.8 (0.35-5.0) and ft4 9.0 (9.0-20.0) but really I don't have symptoms apart

Some questions...
Hi there, I'm scheduled to have a partial thyroidectomy in the future( going to see endo today for apt to find out more). The consultant has said that because I'm only having half of my thyroid removed that hopefully I won't have to have medication. Has anyone else any experience here and in your opinion

FNA pros and cons
After TT in August I have an appointment at Christies next Monday to discuss RAI. I was wondering if some of you more knowledgeable people could give me an idea of the pros and cons so I can go forewarned. As a bit of background, I had a partial thyroidectomy in May, and a follicular carcinoma was found
