31 years with ITP - new here
Hi, I was diagnosed with ITP in November 1986 after a bout of glandular fever, admitted to hospital with a platelet count of 3. I was aged 19. I had a splenectomy in February 1987 as my steroid response was useless, counts wouldn't stay up as soon as the dose was dropped below 40mg and I ballooned up

Hypoxic brain injury
Hi 7 months ago my partner, Claire, suffered a
cardiac
arrest
resulting in a serious Hypoxic brain injury. After 5 days we were told she would never wake up and the best thing to do would be to turn off her life support. Reluctantly we agreed with the doctors.

Irressa, anyone taken it before?
He said we now can give you irressa, I know that there are side effects with every drug we take but at the moment I'm trying to get use to the blood thinning tabs which they had to put me on because I went into
cardiac
arrest
and then a Tia stroke immediately after they had finished the lung biopsy.

Third time lucky?
Morning everyone, I hope you're all ok! I just wanted to give you an update on my journey..... So last month we had a failed frozen embryo transfer (natural cycle) which was upsetting, but we tried to stay positive and think forward. On Monday I had my third embryo transfer (again natural) and the

Full Body RLS
In 2015 I suffered a
cardiac
arrest
due to a heart rhythm problem and since then have had really bad rls , sometimes all over my body to the point where it has me in tears. I am on mirtazapine and bisprolol and wondered if these medications might be the reason for the severity

Hypoxic brain injury
My mom had hypoxic brain injury following a
cardiac
arrest
after massive clots in her lungs. She was revived but unfortunately according to an MRI scan, she had some hypoxic injury in the deeper parts (basal ganglia) of her brain. This happened two and a half months ago.

Any future complications as a result of a cardiac arrest such as mitral valve and/or aorta regurgitation?
I bleed out 6 liters of blood from a nicked embelliccus during a procedure and as a result had a
cardiac
arrest
. I have chronic liver disease also. Now I have mitral and aorta regurgitation ( mild presently) and not sure if this valve problem could be from my

Hypoxic Brain Injury
My husband had a
cardiac
arrest
at work on 3.2.17 and was given CPR until the ambulance arrived and shocked him twice to restart his heart. He arrested again in the hospital. He was in ICU in an induced coma for 10 days and is having an ICD fitted tomorrow.

I know this forum is about anemia but I have a question about polycythemia?
Okay so back in April my red blood cell counts were high 5.31(3.70-5.10). Hemoglobin 15.6, hematocrit 46.9. Doctor initially was testing for vitamin D3 deficiency. Had no idea about the red blood cell count he said everything was fine except the D3 deficiency. Now recently I just had a cardiac ablation
