Generic world
I was diagnosed about 9 years ago and started out on Ropinirole and
Carbidopa
/
Levodopa
50/200. The C/L was generic. I don't believe I have ever taken Sinemet, the name brand. My neurologist gave me several samples of Azilect probably 6-7 years ago.

Hospital Check up
We have attended my FIL three month check up with neurology under Dr Knopp a very kind gentleman. He listened and heard how the last three months have changed for my FIL with clear changes and now added extended episodes of spasms which can last up to 3 hours. We explained my FIL would like help to stop

Disappointed with clinical trials statistics
The following link provides the list of ongoing total 491 clinical trials. The disappointing thing about it is that more than 80% of the trials are L-dopa based. The scientific and medical community is least interested in exploring other means. https://www.centerwatch.com/clinical-trials/listings/condition

EIGHTY REAL REASONS TO CONSIDER Dr. COSTANTINI'S Thiamine / HDT / B-1 PROTOCOL BASED ON HU FORUM MEMBER'S EXPERIENCES
There have been many hundreds of posts on this forum, possibly thousands, describing the use of HDT / B-1 / Thiamine as a potential supplemental treatment for PWPs and there is a specific thread where these benefits are described by many members who are using or testing B-1, but that thread has so many

Simon and Mucuna Pruriens
Guys. Simon of Science of Parkinsons fame, wrote the following about Mucuna Pruriens. I'm pretty disturbed by this as I'm a MP taker and somewhat puzzled as elsewhere he claims that in trials MP has consistently performed much better than CL when it comes to dyskinesia. I thought that this was the appeal

Questions
By the time they had me try
carbidopa
/
levodopa
I could barely walk with a cane. 5 days after starting the carb/lev I was doing great. But over the last year and a half they have had to keep increasing my dose to keep me functioning at the same level.

Mucuna Pruriens as a dopamine agonist and Aspartame
A few things I have read - I wonder if people have noticed a difference taking aspartame out of their diet and adding Mucuna Prurients. I personally avoid artificial sweeteners but have not tried Mucuna. "Aspartame is a synthetic, laboratory concocted, genetically modified, sugar-replacement nightmare

L Dopa, Helps & Hinders
While mucuna definitely helps me, it also seems to make me feel a bit tipsy, spacey, and slow..anyone else experience this ? I'm on Banyan Botanical organics mucuna 500 mg 3-7% tablets which I chew. I usually take 1 , 4x a day more as needed. They work fast.

Increasing Levodopa too quickly?
Posting here as it's so hard to talk to my mums' neurologist. Mum (96) is on Levodopa 125 three times a day and 125 half Sinemet at night. I believe she has been undermedicated for absolutely ages and has terrible drops every day. Neurologist has just given a prescription for 62mg to be added to her

Anyone here using organic Mucuna Pruriens by Sun Potion - 15 % L-Dopa?
I want to start out with 1/8 teaspoon as I am concerned about possible nausea. Any experiences you can share are appreciated. My new neurologist said MP is her "favorite plant". TIA, Thia

Protein: Do we need more - or less?
I've heard this argued both ways. Currently, I'm of the opinion that we can do without as much as most people think, which will help with getting levodopa into the brain. This video, made by a doctor that I trust, discusses the studies: https://youtu.be/7NW32vLq340
